I have been and I am always diligent about making sure I reply to my customers in a timely manner. However, I lost my star seller status for one message that I actually contacted via telephone, as she requested. Of course I didn't think to put a short message saying I am calling you now! So I lost my star seller status because I called instead of messaged. Ugh! I see there is nothing that can be done about it now, per Etsy's rules. But man is it ever frustrating!
@SignSolutionsShop: All you needed to do (and it would also protect you at least a little if the buyer put in a claim later) was reply to the message with a "To confirm our telephone conversation where we discussed ..."
It won't help for the February Star, but at least for the time being, it appears that marking an unanswered message as SPAM (even after the 24 hour deadline has passed) will cause your reply percentage to change in a day or two if the original message was within the current star seller period. Note that subsequent messages from that account may go directly to the SPAM folder.
Thank You!
We lost ours one time another shop because the customer sent 3 separate messages in a 2 minute span and we only responded to one of them. Live and learn I suppose. We now respond to everything.
Same thing here. I always get that one customer who spams multiple message threads and I reply to one and forget the others. I set up auto answers but it never works. I feel your pain tho.
Good idea! I think I was just more focused on getting them called. Lesson learned I guess! Just wanted to keep my status! Ugh!
Good news is it will probably never happen again, if that’s small consolation.
