Hey fellow Etsy sellers,
I am very frustrated because I cannot receive new orders. Etsy should not put the shop on Holiday Mode just because verification takes so long on their end. This process is affecting my business, and I wanted to share my experience.
On January 27, 2025, I received a yellow notification in my dashboard stating:
"Get paid for your sales by verifying your seller info: Since we couldn’t verify the details you shared, your shop is in temporary Holiday mode, so you can’t receive new orders right now. To get paid and start selling again, you’ll need to upload a legal document (like a government-issued ID) confirming your identity in the next 60 days. If you can’t verify your info, any pending orders will be refunded to buyers."
I immediately uploaded my Driving License as a verification document. After submission, Etsy provided this message:
"Your document has been submitted for review: We'll look it over and be in touch soon (usually within 2-5 business days). We may reach out if we need more details. Keep in mind: Your shop will stay in Holiday mode until we can verify your info."
Now, I’m stuck waiting while my shop remains in Holiday Mode, unable to receive new orders. This is incredibly frustrating because verification delays are on Etsy’s side, yet sellers are the ones suffering the consequences.
Has anyone else experienced this? How long did your verification take? I really hope Etsy improves this process so that sellers don’t lose business unnecessarily.

I’m so happy to share that Etsy has finally reopened my shop! After being stuck in Holiday Mode since January 27th due to the verification process, I can now receive orders again. It was such a frustrating and stressful wait, but I’m relieved that it’s over.
For anyone still waiting, hang in there! I know how difficult it is to have your shop on hold, but hopefully, Etsy is working through these verifications as quickly as possible. If you're in the same situation, keep checking your dashboard and emails for updates.

The glitch seems to have been fixed and my store is back to normal.
Yes my shop is reopened yesterday night and now it’s working fine now . Hopefully it won’t happen again
Mine too got verified and shop is open after 3days of wait.
I also faced the same problem which you faced. I also uploaded the document, the verification got completed but etsy payment is not getting enrolled. When I am enrolling I am getting redirected to the same page again and again. Can you help me? Whatever your charges may be, I am ready to pay them.

I'm facing same issue. Actually, I already got the mail from the etsy like your identity is verified but still my shop is in holiday mode.
Will you please let me know what steps you follow to take support from etsy as no one is responding to my etsy ticket.

I’m in the same boat and sooooo frustrated. I accidentally left Germany and France in my shipping profiles and went back & removed them. But there’s NO WAY TO INDICATE this for Etsy. How to let Etsy know I’m ready to finally be verified again?? Please help. Thank you

Ihave opened a shop on Etsy and received my first orders. However, to receive payment they have requested that I deposit a large amount of money which I find strange.

@WellHungStudioGB: You DO NOT have any sales, yet. Real orders will show up on your Orders & Shipping page and your Payments page.
It is a SCAM - if you provided any personal or financial information contact your financial institution immediately. If you provided any log in information you need to change those passwords.
Search Help and this forum for SCAM and you will find lots of articles and information.
Be sure to mark the message as SPAM so that it does not affect your stats (at last report you cannot do that using the seller app only a browser, even your mobile browser, or the buyer app).

I also was forced into vacation mode on the 27th. I received approval on the 29th but my shop is still in vacation mode and it's now February 19th! I have tried to contact Etsy but it has been impossible. I opened up a case, emailed and even messaged them on Etsy. The only response I've received is someone will get back to you but it's been more than 20 days!! It's really starting to affect my livelihood.
Hi everyone, I had put the shop on vacation mode a few months ago because with 2025 I would have made some tax changes and I wouldn't have been able to enter the data before the 60 days deadline.
On February 15th I was finally able to enter my data but my shop it's still on vacation mode!
I wrote a message to Etsy support, they asked me to confirm some data to verify my identity but after a week from their last message still nothing...
I tried to write back but no one answers me. I'm so worried...I don't know what is the problem.
You can go to their live chat & get in the queue to have someone look into it for you. I’ve been waiting as well because I accidentally left some countries that need special shipping permits in my shipping profile. I corrected my mistake but there’s no way to “re” verify so I’m stuck waiting like you. Wish Etsy had phone support.

Well just today Etsy verified my shop & I’m out of forced vacation mode, hurray! I’m sure missing their phone support but glad that there’s at least a live chat.
After how many days cozy? It's been over a month but my account still in vacation mode.

Search Key Word SCAM in the Etsy Forum search bar to find out more but DO NOT give ANY information or even reply to that notification. There is a plethora of information on scams here in the forums and people who are much better at explaining them but since your question is at the very bottom of an old post about a different subject, it looks like it hasn't been spotted by People in the Know yet. They will respond if you post a NEW QUESTION in the forums. I hope this response gets to you in time!
