Forced vacation

Jump to solution

Hello friends! A week ago, after my third sale, Etsy put my store on forced leave. I opened my email and saw a message providing a copy of my ID card for data verification. I sent it right away and my store was reopened very quickly, for which I am very grateful!
But what happened. Not all of my ads are visible. At first it was written that I have six ads, later 80, and they are over 100. In addition, when I opened the ads I officially entered my account, it says "Unfortunately this item is not available", which is not true. I don't know how visitors to my store see it. My visits dropped a lot in a few days and I had started to rank well. I sent an email and am waiting for a response, I hope it won't take long. Do you have such a problem. Did they fix it?

@EtiStitchX  This is a glitch that can happen after vacation mode even when we chose it.  Try this - go to Shop Manager - Listings.  Check the box to select all,  then on the same row select "Deactivate".  Don't renew or delete.  You won't be charged anything.  Maybe wait a few minutes, not sure if you need to or not, but come back and do the same to "Reactivate" - you'll need to filter on the right to "inactive" to bring up your listings first.  Again, you should not be charged anything for just deactivating/reactivating.

If you want to play it safe, try it with one or two of the listings that are showing as unavailable.

Let us know if that works for you!

Exactly how long has your shop been open?  Etsy gives new shops a boost by including them higher in the search order than they otherwise would be.  This only lasts a few weeks so if you are out of the new shop phase, your items will need to regain their ranking organically.  For a new shop, that can take a long time.

I see that some of your listed items are marked as unavailable.  I sadly have no possible solutions to offer you for this discouraging problem.

Can you go through the Help process until you get a callback option? It sounds like you need live support. It may take a few days as callbacks are not always available (from what I have read).

@EtiStitchX A little tip for when you reach Etsy: use the word "listing" instead of "ad." Ads are something else on Etsy. It's your listings you are having trouble with. The wrong word could cause a lot of confusion. (Ads are paid advertisements to promote your listings either in Etsy search (Etsy Ads)  or elsewhere (Off-Site Advertising).) Good luck!

You should not be getting charged for the deactivation/activation unless the listing has expired. When it happened once, I thought maybe they had expired, but when it happened again within days, that can't be right. So something isn't working correctly there.

That’s really odd your shop looks open but when you click on an item it’s says it’s unavailable. Send a help message to Etsy when they reply click the bit that says I need more help.

Hello! Thank you very much for the advice. I did what you tell me and my ads are visible again. However, this is not free. They charged me 0.19 + 0.04 dollars for each ad. Unfortunately, I paid to solve a problem for which I am not to blame. I'm disappointed in that! Not to mention that I have no visits again. Despite the renewal, whether my ads have an initial boost and better visibility for at least a few hours. I do not believe!

Re: Forced vacation

Hello! It can't be because of that. My store is not new. It has been open for more than a year. I've been trying to be seen by clients for so long. I read, change titles and categories. I write new descriptions and others. After this forced closing, I returned to the starting position. Most of my ads for 5-6 days said "This item is not available" and I had almost no visits. I had to, as I was advised, deactivate and activate again to show up again, but it cost me $ 0.19 + $ 0.04 with VAT on advertising, it's not free. And they were paid without their expiration date. Just a technical problem that I paid for, but only to see the ads again and expect visits.

Hello! Thank you very much for the check. Yes, I received two emails from Etsie yesterday and the caption "This item is not available" has disappeared. However, some of my ads remained invisible. I paid for the renewal, as I was advised, only to see you again.

Hello friends! The problem with "inaccessible" ads has reappeared. I deactivated, reactivated, paid for it and now it says "unavailable" again. Are there others with this problem? A week has passed with problems.

Apparently according to Etsy I have no problem. Their page is not active to report. That disappointed me.

Thank you very much for taking the time to take a look. Yes, I sent a message for help. Unfortunately, I have been fighting for so long for a better ranking of the ads. Now they will be left behind again because they do not have an overview.

Re: Forced vacation

Hello! Thank you for looking! I have no expired ads because the renewal is automatic. How can I not be charged, since when I choose "deactivate" I get a message warning that I will owe a fee when activating. I recently received an email from Etsy recommending that I update my headlines when my ads aren't visible. I do not speak English, I use an interpreter, but no one understood that it says "This item is not available at the moment" and there is a problem! This definitely upset me!
