Suddenly I'm on a vacation I never wanted. My shop was placed in "forced vacay mode" on Monday, and we are a 100% digital downloads product shop, with 4.9 stars, and 150 sales since starting in March. Also with Star Seller. All our banking and tax info is current and up to date. And I've opened a ticket with Etsy and still no response a day and a half later. We never received any email or notice requesting anything. Just when sales were picking up (5 in one day instead of 0 or 1 a day). I don't understand how Etsy can not care about its sellers/creators. Communication is terrible. I understand policing a large community like this requires automation and bots because of the scale of it, but it appears there's a malfunction going on the past few days effecting many shops with this forced vacation status. The various screens I can see with notices suggest that they want to give us more time to process orders (as if we were late) while we have no control over processing digital-only orders as they are automatic, and never require processing or shipping. And all our orders are shown as completed. Doing this to sellers who make up the attraction (product) for buyers to even want to come here to shop, without communication or clear understanding of any steps to rectify the situation is extremely poor business practice. I am at an utter loss in what to do to get our shop back up and running again. Extremely frustrating, and definitely making me want to set up shop on alternative selling platforms this week.
Your shop is open??
Just now, yes. Very strange. Still no reply from Etsy support. But we're up.
Your shop is indeed open.
It just opened in the past 10 minutes after posting this and commenting on others similar posts. But now my star seller badges have been removed. I see "Your badges were removed because your account was limited by Etsy. Still no explanation. But at least the shop is open again.
I also sent a reply email to the support ticket that I said "I still need help with this." right before I saw the shop get un-vacationed. In case other people want to try with that effort.
It took me a few hours to have the starr seller reinstated after the shop was reopened.
Thank you for letting me know. Incredibly frustrating. Glad you're up and running good.
I'm sorry you had to deal with this but I'm glad you are up and running again! It's likely your shop was incorrectly flagged by their programmed bots and now reinstated. Etsy relies heavily on bots.
Just a quick update. It's been 2 days since we were reinstated. We were on forced vacation mode for about 48 hours. Never received any information from Etsy as to WHY. Never were told we needed to do or add any information. Since we've been reinstated, we've had ZERO sales and ZERO favorites, and before that we were averaging about 2 favorites and 1 to 2 sales per day. I feel like we've been penalized, and just when we were starting to gain some momentum (before forced vacay) Etsy pulled the rug right out from under our feet. I just don't understand why.
