PLEEEZE....Etsy. I appreciate your security concerns and fully support them. However, you MUST make your CAPTCHA images readable! The images are so blurry and fuzzy and grainy that I just had to go through the dang thing 8 times. And finally busted out of CAPTCHA purgatory by guessing what logically might have the image it was seeking.
GOOD GRIEF. Fix this, please.
It must be your device.
No. It's not. I've got 2 very high quality devices, new, etc.
Same here on Etsy and everywhere else. It might not be Etsy though, just the ridiculous pictures CAPTCHA chooses. I can't even see them even while using my ridiculously high resolution computer screen.
*squints* is that a traffic light? Does the pole count? Is that a bike or a motorcycle? Oh f#ck..I think I'm a robot!
I have wondered the same thing on a different site. It said traffic lights but did they mean lights or the whole light fixture? I always forget what worked the next time I get that one.
LOL--not at you--at the ridiculous system--I have the same problem. Need a magnifying glass to even see the things!
That is so funny, the traffic light poles aways get me too and I can't remember if I included them or not fot the next time they come up.
I'm so glad I'm not the only one.
Thank you so much, in the midst of continually ratcheting tension, reading Etsy community posts, you actually made me laugh out loud. Much needed and appreciated!
And why does it always look like someone smeared Vaseline on the camera lens? Every. Single. Time. I guess AI could easily pick up clearer images and the robots could sneak through. Hey, maybe they could hook up with the Etsy bots and make cute little bot babies that could blur all of our photos and deactivate our listings at the same time!
they need to make them simple... like...
click the baby kittens... and have 6 baby kittens and 3 elephants.
Google reCAPTCHA will continue to get *weirder* as they try to outsmart and stay ahead of the artificial intelligence bots that are being designed to decode them. The baby kittens and elephants one is a piece of cake for those bots.
what about...
baby kittens with elephant ears.
I close out of it and log in again, usually without that nuisance. And when the red error banner shows, i click on the Etsy bookmark i have and find I am logged in. Another workaround.
That's how CAPCHA works. They use images that can't be translated by machines because they are too bad, and then eventually the machine can read the image based on all the CAPCHA responses. Unfortunately, some CAPTCHA scripts use images that are harder to decipher than others.
Well I do better on the awful images than I do on the weird blurry, upside down sideways script and numbers ones. That isn't saying much though. I usually need multiple tries. I just usually need fewer multiple tries on the images.
I really can’t do the weird letters and numbers ones, I have to give them to someone else to do !
How to prove you’re not a robot. Too funny and too true.
Further proof that Brits are hysterical! Love it!
I simply do not have enough thumbs!!!
Thats hilarious but so very true.
@DesertChains oh that is good! Thank you for sharing that. I needed a good laugh. It is both too funny and too true.
It's nice to know that I'm not alone...and it's not my machine or my eyes or my brain!
it's the royal mail one that gets me - 9 photos of dogs - select the ones that are smiling! who am i to judge whether a dog is smiling or not?! i don't have that authority!
I think the dogs baring their teeth are the ones that are smiling.....unless the ears are back too (that's not smiling).
