Feature allowing customers preview wall art on their wall removed? Why?

Why has the feature that allows customers to project my wall art on their wall been removed?

@WildHoofbeats was it an outside link?  Maybe etsy thought you were encouraging buyers to purchase off of etsy.

No this was an Etsy feature that was being beta tested I made an info graphic to let people know how to use it - it just disappeared.

Maybe not enough people used it?  I haven't checked to see if it's still on my app or not and didn't bother to use it more than for initial curiosity.

For those who've never heard of it, it was an augmented reality feature of the Etsy app where digital listings could be viewed as if they were on any surface around the person using the mobile device.  It was introduced in the app a few years ago.

@WildHoofbeats - It's possible they checked their data to see how many people used it, or did some testing to determine how happy or interested people were in it, and perhaps the investment to finalise the feature was too costly compared to the benefit gained from it?

Or it might have been removed accidentally from the latest version of the Etsy app and it will return in the future. 

Or it's being updated to improve it.

We can only guess. There's been no announcement.

I would suggest that you contact Etsy Support via the help center and ask them.

Ok I got some nice support from Etsy - you have to go into the Etsy app and they have updated and made the augmented reality feature even better! Whew!

I love using this feature with my quilts ... glad Etsy decided to keep it!
