I am experiencing problems that do not allow me to change my bank account info. Apparently this is happening to other people as well.
I am in the process of switching bank accounts for my Etsy business, and each time I try to enter my bank account information, it says the bank account information is incorrect. I do know that what I am entering is correct.
I hope a programmer for the platform can fix this as this has been broken for quite some time. Please sellers, share your story if this is also happening to you.
I don't know if it will help, but here's my post from earlier. I suspect this is more common than just you and I. I have two shops, one I had just opened, and as I was in the process of setting up that shop, for tax purposes I wanted the money from that shop to go to my credit union. My first shop, which I've had since 2012, my funds go to my bank account. Trying to get that set up turned into a compete nightmare. I tried contacting Etsy three times by email, no response, then my shop ended up being suspended because they claimed I hadn't updated my bank account. Well, they were right, because every time I tried to do it there was a problem. It took 5 days, 5 days and multiple emails before the suspension was lifted. I should add that between each email I waited a minimum of 4 hours for a response each time.
At one point they said my bank account was updated but I needed to answer security questions before the suspension could be removed. I had absolutely no problem with that, and made the mistake of going to the questions in their email and typing in my answers . Well, that didn't work, because 4 hours later I got an email saying there was no attachment with the answers and could I do that again. At this point I was ready to pull my hair out.
In the meantime, I went to another platform and set up shop in addition to Etsy. I had a couple of questions regarding their request for banking information, but low and behold they had telephone support and the option to have them call you. Within 20 seconds I had a callback and within 10 minutes the issue was resolved. Now, before everyone jumps all over this and says, yes, but they'll take 12.5%, trust me, I will willingly give them that, as I had immediate telephone support that resolved my issue, plus there was no cost to list or renew.
So as a cautionary tail, If you ever have an issue setting up your bank account stay on top of it, because trust me, Etsy will suspend your account in a New York minute.
I bet it's frustrating. The only thing you can do other than keep trying to change it is to contact Etsy directly. Forum members can't really help. https://help.etsy.com/hc/en-us/articles/115013375488-How-to-Contact-Etsy-Support?segment=shopping
