Every Shop Name taken even with my own name?

I am trying to change my shop name, but EVERY name I try - even with every variable of my own personal name - comes back as unavailable. 

Is there a way to know if this is a technical issue or truly every shop name is taken?

Etsy has been around for quite a while. Many of the common shop names have been taken, unfortunately.

This is most likely not a technical issue.

There is no way to tell. Once a shop name has been used it can't be used again even if the shop is closed.

Yes, I’m aware of that names cannot be reused. But no matter what I try to change to I get an error message of unavailability.

guaranteed that not every shop name is taken, else no one could open a new shop.

as mentioned, once a name is used, it can't be used again. Some folks have found that out, to their sadness, and end up having to put a number or 'shop' or 'online' or something similar to get a unique shop name.

Just don't put 'Etsy' as that's verboten.

by the way, not a good idea to ever have a biz name in your personal name.

If you're concerned of it being a site error, have you tried a different browser or some kind of combination of letters (just don't follow through with opening the actual store) to check if that returns the same error message?    sjqieyshk3765135 as an example of a shop name I seriously doubt is reserved, LOL!

Try typing http://www.etsy.com/people/ShopNameOfChoice

At one time, it was a way to check if a name was available.

@ArtDollsbyJD you have to change the "ShopNameOfChoice" to the name you want. Of course it doesn't really exist.
