Re: Etsy won't give an honest answer

Why post in the Forum if you don't want advice?

Good luck....

Re: Etsy won't give an honest answer

You contacted Support to ask why your shop isn't getting views?

Did you really expect them to give you a one-on-one shop critique?

Re: Etsy won't give an honest answer

Have you asked for a critique in the forums yet? You will probably get a lot of help from sellers.

@OLDSTUFFNOW

Real Etsy don't normally ask for banking information when you contact Etsy support for shop help through the proper channels. In special circumstances they may require partial information to confirm identity, eg. for account security resets.

How did you contact "Etsy" . . . was it a phone number you found online? If so then it is a fake scam phone number. Etsy does not have a phone number for contacting support.

Make sure that you are only contacting Etsy support through the Etsy official website, using the links on the shop manager page.

Re: Etsy won't give an honest answer

You've gotten advice why you might not be getting views on all the threads you've started but you don't change anything.
It seems you want to blame Etsy for low views and no sales.

And do you really expect Etsy would even know why you're not getting any views or if they did, tell you why?

Re: Etsy won't give an honest answer

It seems to me you are posting to get views on your shop?  While I sympathize with your current situation, I also feel you received good information on your other threads that would help you.

Are you expecting Etsy to wave a magic wand over your shop?  What are you doing to help your shop?

Re: Etsy won't give an honest answer

@OLDSTUFFNOW Etsy doesn't ask sellers for sensitive personal or financial information through message, chat, etc. If you received a request like that, it's a scam attempt and you aren't really chatting with anyone from etsy.

As for your other concern - I don't know if you made any other posts here asking for help (I haven't looked), but it's likely a scammer attempted to contact you after they saw your post. They do prey on people posting here that (please don't take this the wrong way) seem to struggle figuring out how etsy works.

Re: Etsy won't give an honest answer

You realize that additional views from the forums without favorites or sales lower your conversion rate and sink your shop even further, don't you?

Re: Etsy won't give an honest answer

you ask for help, and you don't take advice

you keep posting, you will get views to help you, but no sales, so you go further down in searches.

Take the advice from your previous posts, or expect to keep spiralling down

your future is in your hands

Re: Etsy won't give an honest answer

@OLDSTUFFNOW  If you take all the advice you have been given here in the forums you will get more views. By continually posting here you are getting views but it’s bringing down your conversion rate which drops you lower in search

Re: Etsy won't give an honest answer

You asked Etsy for an honest answer, and didn't get a reply; I don't know how you contacted them, but I wouldn't give them any banking info.

I will give a few examples of why you may not be getting views.

How is a potential buyer going to find a Hocking Glass Moonstone cigarette box, when it's labeled as Fenton Glass?

How is a potential buyer searching for Libbey Glass flower pots going to find them, when they are called Linbey in the title?

In one listing, the title says the pitcher is from the 1050s, instead of the 1950s. What is a buyer supposed to think of that?

Why do you show the backs of your lovely Mary Gregory glass tumblers, instead of the fronts, in the first picture? Do you think showing the plain backs will attract a potential buyer?

These are just a few examples from looking at your shop.

You have many beautiful and interesting items in your shop, but you need to spend time improving your listings, pics, etc, instead of posting repeatedly in the forums, blaming lack of views/sales on Etsy.

Re: Etsy won't give an honest answer

And unless the OP has fixed it, I didn't bother to look, having Cooper instead of Copper.

Or stating items are "dusty from sitting on a shelf".
For the prices the OP is asking, why would someone want to buy a dusty item?

Plus I noticed a lot of typos in the descriptions.
If selling higher priced items misspelling words doesn't help IMO.

Re: Etsy won't give an honest answer

How would etsy possibly know why you don't get views? We can give you a few potential reasons, which are not particular to your shop, but true for most shops with low sales:

sub-par seo
not-great photos
overpriced items
no social media

And let's not forget the economy, world events, and tax day within the week.

Adding to the list above HIGH shipping.
$12 to ship a small TY Squirrel.
And typos in the titles, listings.

And it's so much easier than actually putting work in, isn't it?

Too bad the actual end results aren't the same.

Re: Etsy won't give an honest answer

You know I used to know someone who would get themselves into a jam by one way or another, not (always) their fault.... But instead of getting themselves out of that jam, they'd deliberately do things - or fail to do things - which ended up making it worse. It became a pattern in their lives to act in ways that would either contribute or create more drama in their life. People would try to help but they wouldn't listen, there was always something undefeatable, someone else to blame...

Finally they got some help and started breaking the cycle. Making positive changes and learning where they were sabotaging themselves was key to getting out of that swampy rut of failure they put themselves in. I think that's a story we can all take something from...
