I got mail from etsy regarding verification on 27th jan then I provided documents to them after 3 days they verified my identity that is on 30th jan night i was very happy to regain access but then I received one order at midnight and then it all started again
this is a system error or a loop which js set by etsy for verification process that if any seller got order they go through verification process and this need to be stopped
We seller are suffering so much due to there system glitch please etsy its a request to remove this error so verified seller can work easily
and there is no support from etsy we get no one gonna mail us revert us i mail them so many times
please etsy board look into this we are loosing are work and funds
Suffering from same situation - got one sale and again went to vacation mode - hope this gets solved asap
I agree.
Starting yesterday the forums are awash with sellers reporting the same thing:
1. They were recently put into vacation mode with an id verification request.
2. They uploaded the required documents which were approved, and their shop was taken out of vacation mode.
3. As soon as they received their first order, the cycle started again and they were put back into vacation mode with an id verification request..
Just search for the word again in the forums, then change the Sorted by: to Date and you will see what I mean.
I find it hard to believe this is not a technical defect, something the seller cannot control in any way.
Is there anyone at Etsy who can help, please?
Agree with you totally. This is exactly what has happened to me and so many others! So damaging. I really hope they sort it out soon.
@DaysofYoreTreasures I agree, it's not right; something is definitely amiss. According to the Announcement about the INFORM Act and rolling Re-Verification, if Sellers are going thru this now, I can't even imagine what repeated rolling Re-Verification will look like. There is absolutely no excuse to not have sufficient HUMAN manpower for something like this, and that includes 24 Hr. Phone Support.
Millions of sellers have to be verified by end Jan
if it was a system error, there would be way more people with problems.
The bot is finding a mis-match
humans are seeing that it mis-matches, but they are then waiving it through
it could be something like St. instead of Street, or Jane S Smith, instead of Jane Susan Smith
but on the next sale, the bot picks it up again.
I would go through everything, with "bot eyes" to see where an exact match might not be working.
bro if this is not a glitch and mismatch issue, why are they even verifying the account at the first place? and then putting it on holiday mode again?
humans are seeing that it mis-matches, but they are then waiving it through
If this is the case then it's a huge part of the problem. A human should work with the seller to rectify the issue, not just pass it through only for it to all go wrong again.
@CraftyCornishMaids So there really ARE humans involved in the process?
If there are humans involved, they need to be trained better so they can help the seller correct the problem(s) the bots have found so it doesn't happen again.
the humans approve the differences
then the bots take over again,
@CraftyCornishMaids So you're sure humans are involved? This is the first I've heard of that happening.
when the bots can't verify
they aren't suddenly going to verify, with no changes, humans can do that
the bots can then definitely unverify, once a sale happens, and they re-check
@MigotoDesigns @JonsCountryIronwork
Computer systems today expect exactness. They are not as heavily invested in fuzzy logic as once was the star. So things have to be exact. That includes everything from form of name to addresses to information on tax. Any slight disagreement and a computer sees a mismatch. The problem here is if a human reviews and okays the human is not changing the information so it is exact.
The trouble is they stop you from updating those fields in the shop manager while they verify! So I can for example change RD to ROAD in my address. If that is perchance how picky they are being. It’s very frustrating!
I can't make any changes to my information as the boxes to do so are grayed out, making it impossible
This should be a bug, it keeps looping.
I was told a third party is doing it only works during business hours. Wish we worked during business hours. 24 hours, list, sell and ship. I have zero sales since last monday. Everything was verified. Nothing changed since 2008
I'm getting the same message over and over, uploaded forms with the entity number along with a secretary of state seal, but they're not accepting anything.
I see that the business registration details you provided during your Etsy registration differ from the information on the documentation you provided.
Once received, we will update your details accordingly.
Once we confirm this information, we can reactivate Etsy Payments in your shop. Until we complete your Etsy Payments verification, we will not be able to process any future Etsy Payments sales in your shop.
Please note that failing to respond to this inquiry within 24 hours will result in your account selling privileges being removed from your shop.
Is anyone else experiencing this? I received an email last night saying my verification was approved, but as of now, my shop is still in Vacation Mode, and the identity document section still shows "pending."
Yes identity document is still showing pending but shop is now opened and got an mail for successfully verified identity
may this is also a glitch or system error etsy will also sort this out
@CraftyCornishMaids Wait, is this possibly an address glitch?? Similar to USPS not verifying an address because it's not abbreviated or something along those lines?
with bots,
they just match binary code - 0's and 1's
so if you have to have everything to match, then it needs to .... down to the last dot.
whether etsy is
1. allowed to have abbreviations in ID checks in some places, but not others
or
2. Hasn't coded it to allow for a myriad of possible abbreviations worldwide
who knows,
but if my id was being flagged, then ok'd by a person, then flagged again, I would 100% look to see if there was a simple mismatch somewhere
@CraftyCornishMaids One glitch after another, it never ends.
glitch with IT or humans
Not a glitch. There are loads of required information that Etsy has to verify for governments that have new requirements. Computers want exactness and variations simply cause more issues. So everything has to match from address to name to anything else.
If a human reviews, the human has to change the information to what the computer wants, not the other way around.
