I have been a member of an Etsy team for many years and when I try and access the list of members I get this message
"You do not have sufficient privileges for this resource or its parent to perform this action.
Click your browser's Back button to continue."
Myself and another member of this team are thinking of reviving the team which hasn't been active in recent years and the full list of members used to be able to be viewed but we both now get the same message shown above when view all is clicked and can only view the first few members. I haven't violated any Etsy policies which was a suggestion from the AI chat which doesn't appear to understand the question.
@CrystalAndColours are you the team captain?
Doesn't matter. Even the team leaders aren't able to access the full list of members. It's been that way for quite a while now. Kind of crazy.
It used to be the list of members was viewable by any of the members so they knew who their team mates were.
When Etsy did the last major forum change and made most of the sections private for sellers only, team members were also getting the "You do not have sufficient privileges...'' notice. Not sure, but I think even team captains weren't able to access it either.
I don't remember if it was brought up by other OPs at the time, but if it was, the problem was ignored.
Yes, it was brought up, and yes, it is being ignored.
Makes it very difficult for team leaders to do things.
I got that, too, on an old team. And, yes, I was/am the captain.
IMO, Etsy would prefer teams disappear. Why else would they do this?
We are here for one purpose, and that is to serve as an unpaid auxiliary Customer Service department.
The days of an actual Etsy community are long gone.
@OneEyeCatStudio Well, provided we say things in the "right way" and hope that meaning is undedrstood, we do have a Community here, albeit a smaller Community and one which is shrinking every day.
Like a stealth community.
@OneEyeCatStudio Thats wierd. I rarely use the word "stealth" but I just used it in another post to refer to the way Etsy disemanates information!!!!! (stealth to avoid controversy)
Esty's treatment of teams has been to shove them in a closet, then later shut off the lights, then later lock the door. A Team would be better on like FB as a private team but it is not the easy access of on site. But less shenanigans on Etsy's part.
Thank you that seems about right for Etsy. Myself and another team member were hoping to revive what was once a very active team but after the original team captain resigned sort of faded away.
@CrystalAndColours I am a member of a team and not the captain or a team leader. I can see all team members by clicking on "active members" instead of just members.
Active members is who has the most posts or likes or something.
It includes people who are not even members any longer.
Yes to OneEye's post. Active members are only those who have been given one or more likes to one of their team posts. On my team, that is less than 20% of the members. And as @OneEyeCatStudio said, many of those on that list aren't even members anymore.
Etsy pays little attention to teams. I really think they would prefer that teams go away.
While some were helpful, many teams played the games which had other sellers in an uproar.
"While some were helpful, many teams played the games which had other sellers in an uproar."
Have you looked?
Because those are pretty much the teams that Etsy has left standing.
As a former team captain, I second the suggestion to set up a Facebook group.
Sadly, the forum here is not fit for purpose when it come to team activities.
It was easier to communicate with team members via FB and send a monthly round up email via Mailchimp. This included any headline news such as opportunities/events/tips etc.
If you set up a FB group, make sure you set rules for joining the group, rules for behaviour and a couple of moderators.
Good luck in your endeavours!
