Etsy sync to Square issues

I have been using a Square shop and trying to manage my listings on Etsy and Square was becoming time consuming and just found out that there is a feature in Etsy to sync my listings with Square. Fantastic! This has saved me so much time as I only have to manage 1 shop per say then just sync to my shop. I got everything setup and was good to go until I ran into a couple of technical issues that may just break the bank on this whole setup.

1. When syncing only 1 mockup is transferred over. I have to manually add any additional photos, and photos do not sync to the variations. 

2. Sku Numbers do not sync.

3. Inventory quantities do not sync.

4. If I modify a listing in Etsy, when I sync to Square all of the modifications I have made on the Square side get reset to defaults. The options that I change are:

   a: Tax information gets reset to No Tax.

   b: Since I Add the sku number manually, because the sku numbers do no sync initially I go in and manually add them. Iif the listing gets updated on the Etsy side, this resets to no sku.

  c: Inventory tracking and inventory get reset to defaults.

5. If there are any variations to the listing, such as sizes S, M, L, etc. which have sku and inventory manually added, Etsy creates another variation of these options with defaults to 0.

I have searched the Etsy community forums and have noticed that there have been issues with syncing being reported as far back as 2018. 

I have no problem syncing, that part works great, it's just that any modifications made have to be redone every time. 

Are there any plans to resolve the issues with this application?

@TwistednThrifted: I think that these very good questions need to be asked of Square, not Etsy since it is a Square application that is connecting to Etsy.

I agree with @BagmakerSupply .  Contact Square.  They have great customer service.  And since they have integrated with Etsy they are likely to have better access to them than we sellers do.  So they will be able to determine if and how these issues can be corrected.

I will contact square, but I thought I would ask here since the Square sync is an Etsy Application through the Sales Channels options and is promoted as an Etsy inventory syncing feature.

I don’t think your skus will transfer over as your going to another provider and square does have their own skus
