Etsy sending messages to my customers after they've ordered saying the item is sold out

In the last two days, two of my customers in two different shops have contacted me after ordering. They received their Etsy order confirmation but then received a second email saying my item was sold out and they were shown listings from other shops. They were concerned they had paid and wouldn't be getting their orders. In both cases, I was not sold out and had already made and packed their orders. They would not have been able to order in the first place if I had been sold out, as the items wouldn't have been listed. What is going on, Etsy?
