My sister has a seller account, her shop’s name is Cottondoe. She got an email saying our Etsy sales account was suspended because someone suspicious tried to log in. But we found out Etsy switched our account back to the email she first used to sign up back in 2021, for some reason. We got a 'Confirm your email address' message sent to both our current email and the old one we changed. Has anyone else had this happen?
Hmm, the shop is open so I am wondering if it is a scam? Was the message from the "From Etsy" portion of Esty messages?
The issue was related to my sister’s account. her shop’s name was Cottondoe.
@UnusLeather , Did you click on anything within the email because it sounds like a scam as said above. You need to contact etsy support from the help menu.
have you been logging in...
to your sisters account?
the title of the thread says... *my email*
and then you say it is your sisters account.
and then you keep saying *our*
so it is confusing.
Nope, she is handling all alone. Only her devices. No one on our end accessing her account
well.
now i am even more confused.
If you go to where you set up 2FA
scroll down, you can see the ip addresses and locations of those who have logged in,
any that are not yours, log them out, and I would set up 2FA if you haven't already
Etsy does not change email addresses. If she is experiencing this then someone is attempting to hack her shop. Have her take the necessary steps to protect such as changing password and enabling 2fA.
