Etsy's creativity standards

I have been a seller on Etsy in one form or another since Etsy first started and never have posted on this forum so bear with me. Today I received an email from Etsy saying I violated the creativity standard. I have never gotten this before and I emailed Etsy for clarification but only received a form response. I am overlooking something about this listing... I'm just unsure what. If anyone could help explain what is wrong, it would be greatly appreciated.  https://www.etsy.com/listing/1195143027/medium-sized-monarch-butterfly-wooden    This is the medium version of what was deactivated.

Re: Etsy's creativity standards

The Monarch butterfly is on the endangered list.  The item is obviously wooden, but maybe the bot only saw 'monarch butterfly'?

Lovely Shop, Fellow Michigander! It could very well be as TheVintagePineapple said. Or maybe your photo was stolen and is being used on other sites (and the bots instantly took it down); just guessing. If that is the case and you find it, issue a DMCA Takedown to the site that hosts where the stolen photo is found. I hope this gets resolved for you; I hate seeing this happen to honest people.

Re: Etsy's creativity standards

Could be the reference to monarch butterfly as that is endangered.  Bots aren't programmed to ignore certain features.

The other possibility could be the wood used.  If any of it is endangered that can be another reason.

Other than those two possibilities an't think of anything else. Let it be for 24 to 48 hours and then send an email to ask about it being relisted.  Hopefully a human will review at some point and allow it to be relisted,

Oh and check to make sure your photos have not been stolen.  ETsy's first reaction is to assume reselling instead of asking.

Re: Etsy's creativity standards

It looks like an identical photo of this item is on Amazon, GoImagine and your own website.

Etsy's bots look for identical photos, and assume you are reselling when they find them, no matter how long or successfully you've been selling them on Etsy.

@jadestonedesign

They will assume you stole them. It is up to YOU to be vigilant about protecting your own intellectual property from thieves.

Any and everyone but an Etsy seller.  Etsy seems to think that its sellers are all a bunch of crooks.
