IT'S A PHOTO OF THE GRINCH!!!!
How can they claim safe harbour status when the search algorithm is suggesting infringing items?
I guess I'm just not surprised anymore.
I LOVE ETSY!
Oh geesh. Way to go, Etsy.
@PlatypusDream: Because for Safe Harbor Etsy only needs to "promptly remove or block access to infringing materials after copyright holders give appropriate notice."
Ah, well then, it can promote all the counterfeit items by displaying the IP infringing images as part of their infrastructure with no problem then, eh?
Etsy, the master at exploiting loopholes, while totally ignoring the spirit of the law.
Oh boy. Is this looking at search results (at the bottom), or inside the listing itself (Explore related searches)?
I'm not seeing this for some reason. I did a search for a Christmas item, scrolled to the bottom. It's not showing me that under the results (desktop computer, Chrome).
Yes, this is looking at the suggested searches at the bottom of a listing.
I'm on my laptop, Chrome.
Thanks. I went back and did a search for Christmas Wreath, clicked onto a listing. I didn't get Grinch as a Suggested Search for some reason. Wonder why I'm not seeing it (same desktop computer, Chrome).
Hmmm....
It was specifically for the search single term "XMAS".
I guess you have to be lucky enough to land on a listing that has that as a tag.
This is weird. I typed "xmas" into the Search Bar. Clicked onto a listing from Pg. 1, and I didn't get Grinch (although I did see him in search results).
Since search is personalized, there is no guarantee you would EVER get the Grinch, but you may get things she didn't.
i wish i had not looked.
i clicked on a random grinch.
best seller.
star seller.
79 items sold in the last 24 hours.
That's why it's all still there... it's making HOARDS AND HOARDS of money for Etsy.
I LOVE ETSY!
Hmmmm, when I searched 'Xmas', I saw the exact same handmade Family Christmas Ornament (in the Barbie script) from 3 different shops and a ton of POD mugs and sweatshirts with Elf, F*R*I*E*N*D*S, and Mickey Mouse. I Guess Etsy is spreading around the IP infringement so EVERYBODY gets seen (eye roll).
