Requesting assistance from Tech support.
Etsy refunded a buyer, not from my account but I received a case knock on my star seller page saying the funds were refunded from my account (they were not).
Live chat confirmed this is a situation for tech support possibly a glitch, I am requesting that you please look into this for me.

On multiple occasions, I have seen Etsy jump in on a thread and say they have alerted the proper technical team to an issue. Personally, I think the OP has a better chance of getting support from the forums than via help. The last 3 technical issues I have had that Etsy support assured me were being escalated to the "technical team" weren't. I was told a ticket would be started and I would receive an email from the team. Weeks/months later I have never received follow-up emails and no tickets were ever started. As far as I can tell it was just BS to end the chat or call, I'm guessing, to meet some quota or something.

Thank you for your reply, I was advised by "Etsy Help" to reach out to Etsy Technical via the forum so i will await their response.
You will probably have a long long wait.
I could be wrong, but I think Technical in the Forum means your fellow sellers.

I don't go through chat, they are as much use as a chocolate teapot
I log an e-mail ticket, and go back into the ticket from the help, every day, and add I still need help
@CraftyCornishMaids well doesn't seem to matter how they are contacted as I've called them as well with the same result, that is no ticket/no follow-up. I've even called back to inquire and they say, "it can take time for the team to get back to you". I get it but months with no response?
To add, I've done the email thing before and I've had them pass it from one person to the next 5 or 6 times with what appears to be AI generated responses with no understanding of what I'm trying to convey. When and if you reach what at least seems to be a person, they either ask for more information, which I've already provided them, or send a "solution" that has nothing to do with the problem.
This has been my experience in the past too, tickets from chat never happened and technical support got in touch via the forums.
In any case, I have a message here and a "ticket"... Lets see which one gets seen to first (I will keep you posted).
Sometimes a moderator comes on and says they will let the appropriate people know.
Wow - Etsy support telling you to come to the forums ... seems like THEY would be able to let the appropriate people know. (It's like they're telling you to go through the back alley in hopes of meeting someone who knows someone when they should know the exact same someone).
And just maybe its a time lag and will get updated in a day or too.
I'd keep responding to the form email with 'I still need help' until I got help or until I could see that the issue was corrected in my star seller stats.
Star seller queries have always been like that - any problem, come to the forums

..... it does have a still need help underneath, for chat and call back - you have to go elesewhere to log an e-mail request
My guess is that Etsy support realizes the futility of getting any response going through them, i.e. "the system", so sends people to the forums in hopes that if enough people have the problem it will get visibility and a mod will step in. Who knows, maybe the tech teams read the forums. (You know they're not spending their time testing anything so maybe they have time on their hands and/or this is what they rely on to find bugs.)

Opening a ticket w/o mentioning star seller is a good approach.
This one sounds like either a time lag between action and updating star seller data and/or a technical issue from what the OP wrote.
Thank you all for your feedback, I just emailed Etsy without selecting "Star Seller". I expect now I will get a person from Etsy looking into this rather than the people with the preset responses from the live chat.
