Etsy order records downloads not accurate

So I downloaded my history of sales for 2023 per month.  The new system that you have to open  file in email I hate.

Prepping taxes and finding errors.

Orders are missing or orders that were refunded or cancelled are still showing 

so that means it’s showing as income

which is false.

Anyone else seeing this?

Yes, it's a well known error/issue.   I submit the 1099 that Etsy sends now because that's "official" but also keep my own records per my accountant's advice.   
Note:   she HATES Etsy and says she can't figure out how they're allowed to do what they do once she looked at my records.   And that's saying something since she's a good, Southern woman who I don't think has said anything negative about anyone since I've known her.

Double check the beginning of the year and end too - there's often several hours that no one can figure out how Etsy's clock decides what goes in what year.      I learned that the hard way once after spending hours trying to figure out why I was off on a couple of orders.   Turned out they were technically in the "next" year according to Etsy but because the order came in on New Year's Eve, I counted it as the prior one.    Grr!

I do monthly books, but I also use the 1099 data from Etsy for my Schedule C. It does not match up with my monthly books. Yes, the canceled orders are on there, but sometimes there are orders that are there or not there, probably because of time zones or cut off times for reporting. I never have this issue with Shopify though. Everything there ALWAYS matches up & it's easy... just ONE spreadsheet to work with. I have heard other sellers here talk about how they or a spouse are certified CPAs & can't figure out Etsy's "method" of bookkeeping. It is unnecessarily cumbersome.

Not sure about missing orders, but for taxation purposes, cancelled and refunded orders are still considered income, and you claim the refund as an expense to offset it.

Choose the month you want, then click the "Expand Categories" button. I only print the 1st page for the fees because the actual sales are all on the CSV. And yes, it prints out wonky for me too, every year ... for years now.

@CryzalisDesigns - On the CSV download page, it says: "To download all orders in a year, leave month unselected and choose a year."

Your Etsy fee info (in an easy to read format) is available on a different screen and has to be printed month-by-month.

I have been downloading it monthly this whole time
