Anyone else having issues with getting messages from customers and not receiving any sort of notification from Etsy?
I received a message from a customer that I was never aware of until I specifically looked in the Messages section of the Sellers App. And then it showed a “new” messages that was several days old….
It so frustrating because not only does it look like I’m just ignoring customers, but it’s screw up my star seller message response rating.
Is this a one off kinda thing or has anyone else experience this issue?
been on etsy since 2014 and it's only since last year that I rarely get notifications anymore whether it's messages, transactions, or even copies of shipped orders, tried everything to get that fixed to no avail. My suggestion to you is to check your messages at least once a day and use the auto-reply this way you won't get dinged for late replies.
agree-- been here longer than @MoldCreationsNmore (lol) and probably since last year some time I rarely get notifications anymore..
I get a cha-ching here and there. BUT what I do have is that I get an email for all sorts of things that Etsy does now and my email provider lets me know of all these things. So that works just fine. I have a newer iPhone that is fully updated. And I am one of those people who as my phone with me 24/7.. I don't miss much and not on Etsy.
This is the reason I came to the forums today. Etsy claims I received a new message from a customer. I was not notified, nor did I receive an email regarding this message so they claim I was late to respond. However, I check my account many times, every day and I’m certain I didn’t miss any messages. ( I rarely get messages to begin with so I’m confident I didn’t miss anything.)
There’s another thread about this issue that was started by another seller experiencing the same problem. I’m thinking it’s an Etsy issue that probably won’t get resolved, unfortunately,
@LascaCreations: "Anyone else having issues with getting messages from customers and not receiving any sort of notification from Etsy?" There are lots and lots of threads in this forum reporting this issue. The consensus is that a seller needs to check their shop for messages and orders at least daily via a browser until these issues are resolved.
If you had a brick and mortar store would you ignore it for days?
Consider your Etsy shop as a brick and mortar where you have to be available when necessary.
The internet is open 24/7 so you have to be available because you never know when someone is entering your store.
Check your shop(s) at least once a day. Twice is better.
