Etsy messaging problems

I sell custom furniture on etsy.  I am constantly getting messages asking specific questions about a piece.  I  answer and get no reply.  This happens to I would say 90% of the messages.  Etsy claims that it is on the customers end.  At first I thought that maybe a message from etsy was going to their spam, but I recently had a customer email me that they were trying to get ahold of me.  No messages in their spam, and when they went to go back to the message chain in etsy, it was there one minute, then gone the next.  I have put an out reply on my messages to call or email me to make sure that I can respond, but they don't get that either.  I am not sure whats going on.  Etsy help is really no help at all.  Not really sure what to do.  I just know that I am losing sales.  Any suggestions?

I'm having the same issues. It seems to be on the customers end if they don't have an Etsy account. I think it's a problem with Etsy messaging itself though. Following. Hopefully someone has some insight.
