For my items that I charge $4.45 for shipping, Etsy is changing it and charging $4.75. How are they allowed to do this? This will definitely affect my sales. How can Etsy do this?
Check your shipping profile
Not sure, but I can definitely tell you a change of 30c in the shipping will have no impact on your sales.
It will and Etsy shouldn't be able to dictate this.
@CoralsGalleria I see $4.45 on your listings. Is the higher cost when an item is bought because the ones I looked at had $4.45
@CoralsGalleria do you have a package or handling fee set up? If so, THAT is being added to your current shipping prices.
No I don't charge of handling.
@TBQSC Etsy is removing handling and packaging fees. We can no longer use them in any profile
Something strange is definitely happening on Etsy this week ... several of my sale items are getting hit with an extra 50% off at checkout, and I have had to cancel quite a few orders this week because of it! Everything looks fine on my end, but it appears as if Etsy is double dipping!
I looked at two items. One was $4.75 for shipping, the other one was $4.50. I'm thinking you might have several different shipping profiles set up? Check your shipping profiles again. One of them must be set for $4.75 (however it happened). If you don't want to charge $4.75 for anything at all, you can simply edit that profile and change it back to $4.45.
USPS had a rate hike in late January. Could this be what is doing it? After typing that, I realize that if you set yours up as flat rate that you enter yourself, it shouldn't effect anything.
I see $5.99 shipping on some items!
I have many different shipping options.
But Etsy support solved the problem. It must have been a computer glitz.
I contacted Etsy Support. Somehow at the bottom of the shipping profile it was changed tp $4.75 (I didn't do it) even though the top of the shipping profile says $4.45. Problem solved.
Etsy support was fantastic helping me.
Wonderful.
@ArtDollsbyJD -- thanks for the reminder, but yes I did know the P&H fees are going away on March 3.
