Hello,
I reached out to the Etsy help desk to assist with an issue on a listing. I received this email an hour later, asking for details I don’t believe are needed. I don’t have any messages from Etsy in my inbox. Is this standard protocol or should I be concerned about a phishing attack?

No need to contact Etsy. Post your problem here and other sellers will help you
Did you contact Etsy Support regarding the price of your listing? If so then I believe you can trust that this is a legitimate email from Etsy support. They will sometimes ask questions to confirm that they are talking to the shop owner - although all that info is probably available in your shop manager so I'm not sure why they ask those questions. It's not like they are asking for your entire card number and credit limit - that would be a scam.
What is the email address of the sender?
Strange that they would email you. Typically Etsy would reach out to you via messages from the " From Etsy" Folder.
Wish we could attach screenies. But generally, Etsy doesn't email you till you have had a discussion via chat support and they wish to follow up. Try using a VPN, we have found that it is helpful with reducing various naughty things that happen on the internet.
When you say you contacted Etsy "Help Desk", are you referring to Etsy CHAT? Like did you initiate an Etsy support request through chat directly on the Etsy website? If so, they can ask questions like that to verify your identity. But you also stated you got an EMAIL & do not have any messages here on Etsy? Was that because you requested to have an email reply sent to you? I personally would be nervous about emailing even partial information. You can check the email headers by viewing the message source to confirm the email was actually from Etsy.
Here is an old thread where a moderator confirmed that Etsy can ask these types of questions in order to proceed with a help request though:
If you post your problem on the forum, you may get better help than with Etsy directly. Sometimes "help" just sends sellers to the forum to get other sellers to help.
@WildFreeJoy If you click on Help in your shop manager and then click Etsy Help Center you should see, at the top right of the screen, a circle with your shop icon. Click on that and you should find My Support Requests. You should see a copy of whatever email Etsy sent you in that section.
Right, and you can get Etsy attention when you're an old timer like me, posting here. I've had posts deleted with no explanation. Sssshhhh!!! Stop talking so much dammit etc
Chat will not send you a casual email like this one. I had to use Chat last week because I had a gift coupon that wasn't working right, and someone from Etsy staff emailed the solution within half an hour. I would ask Chat if the email is valid; my Etsy helper didn't need any account information.
