The list that was active for many years and where I made the most sales was disabled.
Same here, and there's no way to contact them.
I have many listings for the same product. But my best seller listing was removed. Are you experiencing the same issue?
What was removed?
I can see at least one item in your shop that does not adhere to Etsy's Terms of Use.
Contact us under Help in the shop manager. You will need to send in an email and begin working with Etsy about whether or not they will allow your items to be restored.
I have 400 listings. 10 were removed. Been listed for 6 years. They are trying to tell me that they are craft products (which they are not). I also design and manufacture them with a production partner (fully disclosed).
Etsy has changed the Creativity Standards without telling us, so double-check that the listings are still allowed.
I have a post on my Tumblr about appealing incorrect Creativity Standards takedowns, and some more info on LinkedIn as well.
Interestingly enough, I have many listings for the same product. But only the bestseller and etsy pick listings that I sold the most were removed.
@butterflyyshop sometimes the bot doesn't catch a listing until it sells or is edited, so that tracks.
@butterflyyshop: "... active for many years ..." Unfortunately immaterial. Etsy let a lot of violations slide for a very long time, and now it is clear that Etsy has stepped up enforcement of their rules. Did you get any sort of reason?
I've been in contact with support but there is no result.
"Etsy let a lot of violations slide for a very long time... "
I won't dispute that but .....
They have recently changed rules regarding what is and is not allowed.
What was removed?
A lot of supply categories were removed. A lot of party supplies,/ party favors that were formerly allowed. Most home improvement supplies removed. A lot of baking and cosmetic supplies. No more automation or bike parts or tools. Some have actual handmade versions of these and they were removed too. What was your listing?
https://www.etsy.com/legal/creativity/?ref=list
Also handmade items that have a commercial base item with a "superficial embellishment ".
Does that mean the charm on a chain that riled up the forums years ago is no longer going to be allowed?
I am still gobsmacked that Etsy drastically changed this policy without any forewarning at all.
I bet the support desk and chatbot are swamped and wouldn't expect an answer anytime soon, if at all since they seem to send a bot generated response if the question being asked about is in the Seller Handbook.
Which I think must have been written by Steven King. A whole lot of words and a dizzying spin just to find the right link that won't take you in endless circles. Reminds me of taking my grandson to the carnival and doing that spinning tube in the funhouse.
Yeah. That's Etsy's Seller Handbook. More words, less fun.
@TastefulArtisan seriously I would not be surprised. There have already been removals for "charm on a chain" items when similar items using the same components get flagged by the Ai photo bot for being on Temu or Ali or other sites.
Etsy's help center search box. Enter Etsy categories...nope! I can rarely find anything via the help center search box.
See, that's what makes no sense. There only so many supplies and many people use the same ones to make their unique pieces.
The charm on a chain thing I guess I get but really. I use cardstock that I'm sure many other printers also use. Likely even the same brand. My printers are all HP and probably the same as other print shops. Many of us use roughly the same wording on similar items.
I know how to make paper but geez, I really don't want to start a papermill just so I can keep creating. lol
To be blindsided though, that's not cool for the shops suffering these takedowns.
There should have been a warning, a heads up, something, so shops could get their ducks lined up.
I know one shop that glues lace on an item that is mass produced. The lace or ribbon is commercial and the whatzit is commercial but when you combine those things something new is made.
Is it because that whatzit can be worn outside of the event it was made for? Is that what's happening? If it can be used in any other setting it's not allowed?
My son and daughter in law had a Tree of Life at their wedding. People would write their names on it. They used it for their first anniversary celebration and it hangs on the living room wall of their house. Would that be the same. It was a "guest book" of sorts but also a home decor after the event.
Say if you create a hanging banner that spells out Happy Birthday, it can't be sold here? What about if they add a second banner, same style with a name on a second string? Would one be allowed and not the other?
I'm so confused!
Unless you let us know what was actually removed, it's hard to give you a definitive answer.
If you are only adding a label to a commercial pashmina and you have variations for no label and are calling it a wedding favor.. that may be the issue.
There are a lot of pashmina listings that could be taken down soon for the OP!
Off topic OP but in your banner...what is a Bride Tripe? Is it supposed to be Bride Tribe or Bride Trip?
Sorry, I'm just curious.
@TastefulArtisan I'm a curious person too, so I googled tripe (heard the word before but didn't really know what it meant). You might not want to google it.
Dammit. I have the curiosity of a cat so of course I google it despite your warning. But at least I was somewhat prepared.
Ack! Gross. Blech. I don't think I've ever closed out a window so fast before. Eurk
If I was the OP, I'd change that stat.
