Etsy deactivated one of my listings that I have been selling for about 10 years. It is a handmade baby item. In their obnoxious notifcation they said that they would email an explanation and they never did. I relisted the item and they deactivated it again without an explanation.
did it have beads on it?
it would not matter if you had sold it for 99 years.
some baby things are prohibited here now.
why would you try and re-list something that etsy removed?
I understand that some things are prohibited. I tried relisting it because I thought that they made a mistake. I just need an explanation.
It did not have beads
what was it?
What it your Taggies item? That item is actually patented, so I wouldn't be surprised if the owners found you and filed take downs.
It was not a taggies blanket. My item does not violate the patent terms.
Etsy no longer allows any baby pillows, crib blankets, shirts with strings or ties or beads, baby hats with ties, etc., because there have been infant deaths associated with all of those items. Etsy advocates for child safety standards and expects its sellers to follow its guidelines.
You also need to check your tag blankets. Taggies owns the design and patent.
Etsy have tightened up their rules on baby items and are using AI bots to automatically deactivate listings that they deem to be problematic. You cannot just relist them - they will get deactivated again and you will not get your fees back. You need to figure out what the problem is and fix it or not sell that item. Have you read the guidelines for product safety? That might be a good place to start: https://www.etsy.com/seller-handbook/article/product-safety-essentials-selling/1053896179141
Do your items meet CPSIA requirements as they are for babies? I thought wood teethers were not allowed. Only silicone ones.
Without know the item we would only be guessing.
The article above is a good place to start. I would check into whether or not your items meet cpsIA requirements. Things have changed. It doesn't matter if the items have been sold for years. Recent changes may dictate otherwise.
Maybe if you say what the item was, so we won't have to guess.
