Running into this issue where Etsy online will only show my overdue orders. Under the new tab I have 7 orders. If I go to the orders on my phone I can see all of them. But on the computer ONLy the overdue orders show up anywhere. Meaning I can not manage or go through my other orders. Once I clear the overdue orders they show up. I really hope this is a glitch and not a design. Sometimes I need to manage other orders even though some are overdue. Seems like a really dumb feature. Anyone know if it has always been like this?
i never have overdue orders.
maybe etsy wants you to hurry up and ship them.
I don't often. I was in the hospital and didn't ship orders... Ya know, i was in the hospital. things happen. Now I am catching up and want to reply to everyone, but noticed I can only reply to the overdue one.
Genuine question....
How do you have overdue orders when you're not making anything...you sell cameras and film...Or is this for another shop?
Perhaps extending your processing time if you are not able to ship your orders when they are due?
Etsy doesn't take too kindly to overdue orders and consistently. If it's an ongoing thing, don't be surprised if you wake up one day and they've shut your shop down.
I was in the hospital. It is not an ongoing thing.
And yea its just processing. I don't make things but my items are vintage and restore so I have to restore and sometime fix or clean up the camera. Never an issue, until I was in the hospital. I just forgot to delay the shipment, other things on my mind.
@HeartBreakerCameras: And how is 'Kodak Professional Stop Bath' handmade? Etsy is stepping up shutting down shops for reselling and other policy violations.
Cameras, film, and photo development chemicals are definitely art supplies, and a bunch of them appear to be vintage. Looks okay to me : )
@Chrysalism: Agreed in principle, but some items appear to be listed as HANDMADE and do we really expect the bot to be that discerning?
@HeartBreakerCameras - Definitely make the needed changes to your listings. It appears the majority of your listings are either Vintage or a Supply.
They are not handmade. This from Etsy: https://www.etsy.com/legal/handmade
Check your processing times and make changes if needed. Shipping orders late is not viewed kindly by Etsy.
Also, not sure, but do check to be sure your Stop Bath & anything that contains chemicals can be shipped Priority mail. It might be restricted to Ground Advantage - that they should not be shipped using any sort of air carrier.
I am quite careful in my listing! I contacted etsy about this, they said because there is a production partner this is what I should use. The production partner is Kodak. And I guess they don't have enough options so this is what they said is correct.
"Handmade with production assistance"
Who made it: Another shop
What is it: Finished Product
When: 2024
Production Partner
Then Etsy says handmade. I do not choose those words.
Also yes, thanks for the reminder, but I know how to ship my chemicals, possibly marked with one type of shipping but I never ship chemicals or certain batteries via air
@JMOldeVintage (Sorry if that sounded sassy, I genuinely meant thanks for the reminder!)
@HeartBreakerCameras - No problem. How things come across when typed on a page versus when you get to talk in person is so different.
The only reason I mentioned the stop bath is that it is acidic & when I carted the listing I was shown the cost for Priority mail.
So the buyer will see the cost of Priority though Ground Advantage is probably less $$ - ground may be the only way to ship the stop bath - and - buyers will be shown estimated delivery dates for Priority service versus dates for ground. It's those EDD's & Etsy's purchase protection program that could cause problems too.
@HeartBreakerCameras that's all correct except for "finished product"- instead choose "a supply or tool to make things". Etsy support is often misinformed, sorry you got bad info!
@Chrysalism @JMOldeVintage
Thank you both! Been selling on etsy for years, almost 800 sales, still learning things everyday!
I changed em to supply. And will update chemicals to ground.
Ironically I am done selling chemicals just getting through the last of my inventory, but might as well make it correct for my final 2-5 sales.
When you speak to Etsy chat , they don't tend to have the knowledge regarding where to list a product and they obviously misunderstood what you were trying to list ( they are outsourced and are trained on the basics )
However takedowns, reserves and the like are automated based on the info of your shop. I would definitely ignore the info you have been given and re-categorise all of your listings as applicable. Here's what Etsy says help.etsy.comWhat-Can-I-Sell-on-Etsy
In relation to your specific query -at the top of your orders page , top right there is a sort by field , its looks as you have overdue orders ticked , change this to all orders to resolve.
In relation to the lateness of the orders , this can trigger Etsy to place a reserve on your shop, so if possible ( with your customers consent ) push out any delivery dates to resolve.
First of all, thank you for actually answering the question! Overdue orders is not ticked
I pushed all the dates to solve it, that is a good idea, thank you.
And I went ahead and changed all my developing supplies to "Tool or supply" Which is against what Etsy told me but I agree, sounds like that may not have been able to give me the best advice. Thank you
In truth i've never had late orders, so i'm not sure if this is in fact just an Etsy system default in this situation or whether you have a system glitch Possibly only time will tell, once you have cleared your late orders see if this changed things.
In the meantime, id recommend logging out of Etsy, clearing your cache and logging back using a different browser - if you havn't tried this .
I hope you get this sorted and sorry to hear about your hospital trip, fingers crossed that all is well.
So glad you are feeling better and take good care of yourself!!
