I've seen a lot of messages on the forum bashing Etsy chat (usually over IP infringement or money holds which they probably have zero control over). I just wanted to update people; I posted about a month ago about my shop logo not changing on Facebook after I changed it in my store; I reached out to chat for the first time and the person I got was very polite, spent about 20 minutes investigating, and told me it was a FB issue and I would have to wait for FB to clear their cache. Well this morning I went out on FB and my shop logo has changed there, so the person who helped me DID know what they were talking about. Just wanted to post something positive in the sea of negatives.
I've had great help using chat.
@SewInspiredByJapan: Thank you for posting - unfortunately in these forums we see a lot of the customer service fails and rarely hear about the successes.
I've always received proper answers and help with I reached out through Chat.
I think sometimes some people get frustrated because they are asking Chat to do things that simply can't be done. Like fixing their Star Seller rating after the seller forgot to add tracking or missed a message.

I absolutely have received proper answers in chat. For example, your deposit was made on x date for x amount with a deposit tracking number of x...but to date I have never received the deposit. They absolutely can provide accurate information, but in my experience, they can't do anything to actually FIX or resolve an issue.

I chatted with Diego and Alyanna, and they both understood very quickly the problem I was reporting. ( this was when our shops were all missing pages on the mobile browser. ) One of them actually had an Etsy shop.

I'll contribute to this positive thread. I had to issue a refund, and I noticed that Etsy fees were not refunded to me. Chat fixed it on the spot. And I can confirm it was not a cat that helped me:)
