Dear all,
I’m quite confused. I received a message of Etsy to which I should answer by sending my email address by return, if not my store would be put out of order! There was remarked a customer did buy something and can’t finish the order because there are doubts about my existence as a real shop! Just some weeks after my first sell! This is the mail message, to which I couldn’t answer, the system denied the sending! Conversation closed or sth similar. And: if this happens again contact the support… only how??? Nobody answers…
This is the mail (unfortunately only in German):

If there is anybody there who could explain why I got this message and what I should do about it I would be so graceful. TXS a lot in advance

This is a scam. Thieves are pretending to be Etsy staff. This scam has been ongoing since at least July 2023. Messages from Etsy will show up in your mailbox titled "From Etsy".
Real Etsy staff will never ask for your email address because they already have it. Also, any actual orders will show up on your dashboard. If the sale is not displayed on your dashboard, you don't have a sale.
Don’t respond or provide any personal or financial information. Don't click any links that take you off the Etsy site. Send the message to spam.
If you have provided any financial information, immediately contact your bank to report fraud on your account!

Shame Etsy still hasn't introduce a spam filter which would autospam these messages to the spam folder, then it would be obvious its spam

I have also received an email supposed from Etsy support asking me for my email address to verify my account as they are apparently holding money from a buyer and my account will be blocked within 24 hours if I do not respond. This is worrying. I have not responded.
Edited: I have now marked as spam as suggested.
SCAM
Mark as spam and do NOT reply.
That's a scare tactic to get you to reply, enter your bank/cc info so they can STEAL all your money.
Etsy has your email.
They would NEVER ask you to verify your account through an email.
If your bank/cc info needs updated it would show on your dashboard or finance page.
Support is NOT holding an order from a buyer.
You've had well over 2,000 sales you should know this is not how this works and it is a scam and that Etsy would never ask this.
