Etsy Shop Suspension and No response

Hello Etsy community,

I hope a community manager can read this and raise this concern to specialists.

1/ First, my shop name is “ddmmyyyyshop”. I use this account just to post here on forum as I can’t do so with my suspended account.

2/ I received no emails (even junk mail box) from Etsy. My shop was just shut for no reason.

3/ I am selling items that are genuinely handmade by me. I am the only artist in my shop.

4/ I have read through TOU, I didn’t violate any.

5/ My old shops were “YVNoriginals” and “ddmmyyyyleather”. The first one was discontinued because I decided to brand my items. The second one was discontinued because I moved to the UK. (Etsy told me to open a new shop because changing payment account internationally is not allowed.)

6/ (That may be the cause) Recently, I was travelling overseas to 2 countries. I login to my shop there. May be that triggered auto-ban? This is the only “abnormal” activity recently.

7/ I got 2 large transaction from clients last month. They all are legit and real client. You are welcomed to check the Etsy chat history. They are real people with blue ticks on instagram, that respond to me on social media. Im happy to provide the proof.

8/ My plan of 2024 is to rely on Etsy. Now I am devastated.

9/ I have appeal the case, but I don’t even know what I have violate.

Were the countries you travelled to on Etsy's prohibited list under their "Sanctions Policy"?

No. Not those places.

Logging in from different areas and countries would throw up a red flag to Etsy but Etsy does suspend shops in error too.

Yes I’ve done everything that I can. I hope a specialist can take a look at my account and get it back online.

I used to travel a lot for work and logged into my USA based Etsy frequently from India, UK, Canada, Singapore, Malaysia, France, Germany, Netherlands, South Africa, Botswana, Zimbabwe and Iceland w/o issues.

Have you shipped the recent large orders? Could they have caused the suspension? (I think I've read that only tends to create a mandatory vacation mode however, not a suspension.)

I ship out one last month and delivered.

I ship out another one today as planned.

through my Etsy life, I always ship on time.

i make leather crafts it’s all my sweat and blood. It’s hard for me to make a profit as I have to offer free shipping and pay the expensive Etsy fees. But I still choose to trust Etsy to fulfill my dream. When the buyers are happy I’m happy. It’s not always about money 

There are many people out there selling non-handmade items at a cheap price but they are not banned

Are you disclosing your shops when you have more than one active?

You're posting from a shop that shows Hong Kong as the location? Could there be a mix-up with your financial accounts and your location?

No. It’s my old shop before moving to UK. I was adviced by Etsy to open a new shop.

Call me confused but shouldn't you have a 3rd shop if the first two were in Hong Kong and you are now in teh UK.  Did you mean to close the one you are posting from?  You need to close the shop if you are not going to use it for several reasons including to prevent hacking.

Yes the logging in from other countries is not advised especially when you have one shop in Hong Kong and the other in Hong Kong too?  See this is what confuses me.  If you permanently moved to the UK, you need to close down both shops before opening one for the UK.  

If you have filed for review, did you ask Etsy to contact you?  Did you explain what was happening?  I can't say I know how they will react.  You may just have to sit tight and wait for Etsy to respond.

1st shop - 10years ago, unbranded and I started it as hobby.

2nd shop - opened when I decided to brand it. When I moved to UK, I was able to change the shop location but not bank account. I inquired Etsy for advice, and they asked me to open another new shop.

3rd shop - I followed Etsy’s advice and open this 3rd shop. With every legal info filled.

If that’s the case, they should hear my explanation instead of just shut the door without informing what happened.

Yes I can only sit and wait. I’m devastated:(

The "taking a break" banner generally means something is off in your financials, you have late shipping or too many orders in etsy's estimation or Etsy is investigating your shop..suspended but not closed. You need to keep at them and check all your email spam/trash folders for a missed message. Sometimes I think there IS no message which is inexcusable as a business venue. Could be reason 5,6 or 7 or a combination of them.

i do hope they are really investigating and tell me what to do instead of just shut the door permanently.
