Is anyone else see this in their shop? At the beginning of 2023, I added new variations with price differences. About 3-4 months later I went back to same pricing across the board and deleted the price differences. This year, about every month they keep reverting some of my listings BACK to the ones with price variations. I just started adding videos today to my listings and as soon as i went back to my dashboard almost ALL of my listings are now back to last years variations with the price differences. So if you did this too, please check your listings to make sure they didn't revert yours back too. I think this has to do with them removing the old listing form soon, I hope that removing it does not also delete all the listing changes made in the old form. It's so much work to keep fixing this and remembering to check ALL the time.
I have something similar happen every so often. Listings will revert back to the prices and options that I had available at some other point in time.
I usually try to check every once in a while but typically I only notice when all the sudden I sell a listing and I'm like SAY WHAT?!?!?!? because they were able to buy it at a significantly lower price that it should be.
At some point I contacted etsy and they pretty much said I did it LOL.
Now I don't bother and just fix it and hope I can catch it soon enough before it causes issues.
They flipped one of my photos to an old color chart from 2019 that I don't even offer anymore. Luckily it was only one listing. But how confusing for buyers!
Wow something to look out for. The standard line given for ALL things happening incorrectly at Etsy is "you must have done something wrong" Even known glitches are treated this way.
UPDATE: While uploading videos, I am deleting the original color choice variation and adding them back in as a new variation. A huge PITA but hopefully this will stop it.
It sounds to me that with all their many tests, they are reverting back from an outdated database copy that is too old and loses all the changes you have made during the time they were fiddling with things. Sometimes those tests last a couple weeks or more, so there is a possibility to lose a lot of information. I have had hundreds of listings completely disappear when I am positive I have already added them multiple times. The other day I was creating a sale with selected listings where you choose from the items shown depending on what you searched for, and I realized they were showing me items that have been sold out for a long time. Same thing with variations disappearing or reverting to old choices. Restoring from an old database dump when they break things would explain all of those things.
Bingo! I cannot tell you how many times I have really old pictures that I deleted and replaced pop back into a listing.
This is another example of why live testing is a big no-no.
