Etsy Purchase Protection Program - Needs Improvements
Etsy Sellers need a way to initiate a Purchase Protection Case when a Buyer contacts the Seller that items have arrived damaged. When Buyer's open a case, they can request a replacement for an item, but there is no way for a Seller to initiate a case when contacted by the Buyer that an item has arrived damaged and for the Seller to receive compensation under the Purchase Protection Program from sending replacements. Please update and allow Seller to open cases for orders that arrived damaged/lost to file for Purchase Protection and to be able to receive reimbursement for sending replacement orders.

Re: Etsy Purchase Protection Program - Needs Improvements
The purchase protection program isn't intended to help sellers, so they will not make changes that benefit us. Its meant to increase buying by letting buyers know how easy it is to get their money back if there is a problem. Its understandable that you don't accept returns on monogrammed things, but since you don't accept returns Etsy will refund when a buyer asks and and something is damaged or not right. It would just be better to let them get their refund and then reorder.

Re: Etsy Purchase Protection Program - Needs Improvements
Etsy only pays for ONE damaged case a year! All other cases will be automatically refunded out of your seller account. The PPP is for buyers, not for sellers ... Etsy is not going to change that!

Re: Etsy Purchase Protection Program - Needs Improvements
Etsy's PPP is not insurance. Only buyers can file cases, because only buyers can file chargebacks. Chargebacks have extra fees, and Etsy's PPP allows buyers to be made whole without Etsy paying additional costly fees. Any Seller Protection Etsy offers is a mere courtesy.
If you want insurance to cover damage, you will need to purchase shipping insurance. Insurance protects the seller, the PPP plan protects the buyer.

Re: Etsy Purchase Protection Program - Needs Improvements
Etsy only allows one NAD case for protection yearly.
You as the seller are asked to have insurance on your items. Either through Shipsurance, shipper or self-insure. As a business owner it is part of business to institute ways to protect your business for things that happen such as damage or loss. It's not a good idea to rely on outside sources such as Etsy for this.
If you use USPS then the up to $100 is with every package. A seller needs to ask for photos of the damage so that claims can be processed.
Many sellers use a combination fo self insurance and third party such as USPS and/or Shipsurance.

@ArtDollsbyJD -- Etsy allows for 1 damaged case per year. I did not read that for NAD cases. Am I missing something?
