Etsy Please Take Action on the Automated 'Creativity Standard' Listing Removal Process

Like many other stores, we have recently received multiple automated listing removals due to 'violating Etsy's Creativity Standards.' Despite being a successful Etsy seller for 12 years with over 100k sales, our Etsy store and livelihood hang in the balance due to Etsy's AI listing removal bot which is removing legitimate listings from the site with no explanation. 

Etsy prides itself on ‘making e-commerce human again,’ yet it seems there’s a significant lack of human communication in these decisions. We’ve tried numerous ways to resolve this issue—calling, emailing, chatting, and reaching out on social media—but have yet to receive human response.

Could someone from Etsy please explain why we, as original designers, are not given the chance to provide evidence of our design ownership and address these removals? Any assistance or clarity on this matter would be greatly appreciated.

I'm dealing with the exact same issue, it's absolutely ridiculous that there is not even an appeals process in place. They don't respond to any proof of ownership - we're literally being punished because people from aliexpress and temu and the like go over the bestseller listings and steal from us.

To unleash an automated system on the website like this without any human review in between (or even after) is simply baffling.

Sorry to hear you're dealing with it too. It seems to be a major issue for so many legitimate stores, especially those who are the victims of intellectual property theft by the China counterfeit sites. We’re in this boat too an constantly fighting against counterfeit version of our designs. Now Etsy is punishing us for it.

Etsy – please adopt an appeals process for listing removals, listen to your sellers and offer the human interaction that you claim to value.

Just to update, we have been waiting for an Etsy call back for nearly 4 hours now...

We also called them 12 days ago about a previous listing removal, and they said they would escalate and contact us. We are still awaiting a response to this. We are also waiting for an email response. We, as sellers, always respond to customers within 24 hours, as per Etsy's guidance on retaining the Star Seller Badge. Why does Etsy not extend the same customer service levels to us?
