Hello there, lovely people! My name is Vidhii, and I'm a part of Viviva Colors, an Etsy store that has been around for a while now. I hope you all are doing great!

I'm here to ask for your kind help. We have a shipping profile set up for one of our warehouses in the USA, and it's been a hit among our customers. But, we haven't been able to attract any orders from Etsy UK and other European countries yet. I was wondering if you could help me out with some suggestions on how we can reach out to more customers from there.

I would be very grateful for any advice you can give us.

You have to have your shop set up legally for selling to the EU/UK, many people don't buy if the shop is not legal

1. you need 30 day return policies on all your listings

2. you need your actual geographical address and e-mail address in sellers details, not just a city, and tick the trader box

3. and you need a gdpr policy.

Buyers from Europe will purchase from shops dispatching from the US but in many cases I think they find the shipping cost to be quite high.

Example: your watercolour paint set is £25, but shipping is an additional £15 = £40 total cost.

It's also worth considering that the number of active buyers in Europe is still quite low compared to those in the US and Canada.

Localisation may be working against you - buyers in Europe will see listings from shops in their own country first so it's possible your US based listings are not getting effective visibility in Europe.

just because I like stats and have looked this up before,

number of buyers by country on etsy

1. USA

2. UK

3. Germany

4. Canada

however $20 for an A6 cotton sketch pad is top end expensive, with another $20 on top for postage, for something we could buy in the UK for half the item cost or less, and a quarter of the shipping cost, and get it a lot quicker

It would need to have unique appeal
