Etsy Messaging system

Okay I remember a few months ago Esty implemented something new in the message system. Now I am getting multiple emails even though it is in the same message, this lady and I were like chatting and I kept getting tons of emails all separate in my gmail. did I do something in one of those how do I get back that it just brings up the previous email if it is all in one message in Esty? Help please annoying as you know what thanks Lynn

@teelady  :  We have our account setup to receive eMail copies of Etsy messages and we receive one eMail for each message (so if there are two messages from the buyer and three replies from us there are five eMails for that thread). So are you getting multiple eMails for a thread or actual multiple copies of the same message?

However, we actually manage and reply to orders via browser to reduce the possibility of problems.

No in my gmail account if someone messages me I use to get them in one email it just would pop back up! but now I get each one in a separate email not like before.  I don't know if I done something in gmail or if I did it in some etsy settings
