Hi,
We've just received an email from Etsy Conversations <conversations@mail.etsy.com> asking us to verify our account........is this spam?
They asked for my email address, which we provided, and now want me to verify my account by logging on through the message that is in our etsy mail box?
Many thanks
Paul & Phil
@EdgeBeanbags: "We've just received an email from Etsy Conversations <conversations@mail.etsy.com> asking us to verify our account" What you received was the eMail copy of an Etsy Message, not an eMail from Etsy itself.
Real messages from Etsy are now going into their own section (labeled as "From Etsy") on your Messages page https://community.etsy.com/t5/Announcements/New-From-Etsy-section-in-Messages/m-p/143722497#M1899 but apparently this is only true when using a browser.
What you received is a SCAM / phishing attempt- you might want to read the excellent post by @bradgoodell in https://community.etsy.com/t5/Managing-Your-Shop/How-to-Spot-a-Scam-No-a-Buyer-Doesn-t-Need-Your-Ema... and https://community.etsy.com/t5/Technical-Issues/Why-do-they-ask-me-for-my-e-mail-in-order-to-make-a-p...

scam
Etsy obviously has your email ... and don't ever share your account details unless you can verify that you are working with the real Etsy.
Scam. Mark the message as spam so it doesn't cause you problems with the Star Seller badge.
Yes- SCAM-- mark it as such-
If Etsy wants to talk to you-- they have a dedicated folder in your message center here.. that is marked From Etsy-- they are the only ones who can get into it. Any thing else is a scam and don't speak to those people. AND never click a link in an email.

The message is a scam.
The email is a legit notification from Etsy that you have a message waiting for you (that in this case happens to be a scam)
