Not sure if this is an issue for technical support or marketing/PR - lately I've been receiving emails from Etsy as a buyer promoting items from my own Shop. The email encourages me to favourite my own items so that I get notified in the event that they go on sale. In Etsy's latest personalised email to me with subject line "Just for you, pumpkin" the email header starts off with "Best sentence ever, your favourite is on sale!" proceeded by photos of a few new full price items in my Shop that have not been on sale, nor do I plan on putting them on sale. So in my view this email is really misleading. I'm not so concerned about getting emails from Etsy promoting my shop to myself (although not sure why that's happening)...but if my customers and followers are getting a similar email implying that I've put the most expensive products in my shop on sale, that isn't right. Would love to get some feedback on this.
If you view your items the bot may not differentiate between your items and others. It SHOULD. I get my shop items or my other shop's items in my You may like area often. I think it especially happens if you have more than one shop and switch back and forth a lot.
I had that happen a few weeks ago too, the advertising said, hey here are some items that we would recommend for you, they were all mine.
It is probably because when you look at your own listings it becomes part of your browsing history.
Etsy can't tell it's you so you will see ads for your own shop. It's unfortunate because instead of things from other shops that we might be interested in buying, we end up seeing our own items. They could probably figure it out but it might cost more than the figuring out is worth.
