I'm a very long time buyer and seller on Etsy but recently I have been unable to spend my money here as there is a big box with a scan code telling me to download the Etsy app, it won't go away so I have gone away and made my purchases elsewhere on eBay and Amazon among others. I am using a desktop iMac, it does not use the Etsy app and I cannot sit there and fool around with this intrusive and offensive box, time is money for me, I make my living here, the chat box doesn't respond to my questions and Etsy is just generally non responsive. And yes, I'm venting, I'm upset, I work hard here, I make new goods every day, I list every day, I sell and ship every day like many other sellers here, I would like to have this pop up box removed as it is not compatible with my computer system. I don't do business on my phone and I don't intend to.
Maybe some Etsy staff member will take some time to remedy this, business is beyond tough out there right now, how about a bit of help from the folks we support?
It's a bit annoying but why would you let that stop you from buying? You see pop-ups on most online shops now, it's not an exclusive Etsy thing. Not worth getting that stressed by it.
I think when it continually comes up on the screen every single time you open a page when you're looking for an item, that's when it becomes really annoying for buyers. If it came up just the once when you open the site we wouldn't get so annoyed. The fact that it's placed exactly by the 'Buy it now' is another point, you have to be careful when clicking the X not to add an item you're looking at into your basket.
I have a pop-up window in the Etsy app. When I try to buy, rate, or view tracking, the dashboard from the Sell on Etsy app immediately pops up on the left, and I can't use the Buy app. The window covers half the screen and won't close. It's impossible to buy anything or do anything else. I don't have any problems on the PC.
