Etsy App - share with social media - not working on my phone AGAIN!

Hi -  Is anyone else having a problem with sharing social media posts from your phone?  this is the third time this year that I am experiencing a freeze when I click to share to.  It splits my screen in half and the bottom is gray with no text.  And then the phone locks up.  I've reset my phone.  I've hard reset my phone to no avail.

When it works, it's great.  But, when it doesn't it's a royal pain to have to manually post from within your preferred social media app. 

It does work from my ipad.  So that's my current work around IF IT'S Handy.  But most times, it buried in my office.

And the lap top browser?  at least I can make it work from there, but it's too many steps.  Sending it to instagram requires - guess what, your PHONE! 

Bottom line, is anyone having this issue?  If so, how do I report it to Etsy?  It's not easy sending emails to CONTACT US.  You get sent to endless FAQs.

You may be able to post directly to Instagram on your desktop/laptop without your phone. I'm not sure if everyone can do it, if it's limited or how new it is but you may be able to post directly to instagram on your laptop or desktop. I had a pop up informing me that I could when I looked at IG on my desktop yesterday. I just tried it and it worked, I just posted directly to IG from my desktop. Super easy and much better than dealing with the phone. Try going to instagram on your pc browser and see if it will let you post.

So I was on my laptop.  Etsy reply told me to look at my phone notifications.  It was sitting there.  When I clicked on the message I did get to my IG app.  But this is too many steps.  Just fix the phone app.  Etsy is the one who brags  about their app! Every day it seems like Etsy is all about the buyer. But without the sellers, there are no listings.  I also feel like it’s deliberate attempt to force me to buy ads.  Not doing that.

Have you tried just going to Instagram directly on your PC? That's what I was referring to being able to post on your PC without needing phone. If I go to instagram.com and log in I can post to my Instagram page right there on my PC without using either ig or Etsy sellers phone app. The only limitation may be some features like tagging a product if you have product catalog on IG.

I'm thinking FB and/or IG does something to not allow it - after all,  it's free to us to do that!

I’ve been having the exact same problem for well over a year now. I have given up on sharing my artwork through the Etsy app. But if anyone does have an answer,  I’m willing to try again.

I’ve had this issue too on my iPhone- (the grey at the bottom/ missing the “Excited to share….” ). For me, anyway, I’ve still been able to have it share the link by hitting the share button and have it paste correctly onto FB

Click Marketing.

Click Social Media.Choose one of your products

I’ve tried all those steps and I still can’t share anything from my phone or laptop. I spoke to Etsy and they don’t know how to fix it either

We prefer to have our links etc on the posts, not Etsy's, so we post directly to the platforms. We do this exclusively on desktop and for Facebook / Instagram use their CreatorStudio

I gave up about a year ago. Went through a huge long support thing. Had to give up on it. Got a new phone since then. Still doesn't work...

I gave up on it etsy told me that they had there tech team on it month’s ago but they never got back to me. I feel that they just want shops to pay for there ads

Just read through all of these threads. Sigh. I keep working around the Esty app glitches on my iphone.  But the freezing up and losing a complete post one tap away from posting...is infuriating me. Working from my lap top is just too labor intense.  What good is an app if it doesn't perform and why aren't these glitches corrected? They must surely have enough feedback by now to modify what could be a terrific app. I too have given feedback and asked for help without response. Of note-- I do get responses when my issue is something they have answers for. I'm open to all suggestions. (I have done all the attempted fixes noted above without success.)
