I sign on Etsy 6 days a week via laptop. Obviously signed in right now. While here I check my dashboard, listings, stats, see what favorites are on sale, etc. Go to forums, read several posts - comment in a few, & play forum games.
However...
if I look on my phone (not signed in & don’t have app) it says I haven’t been active for 4 days. It also doesn’t show any way to contact a seller. Is it because I don’t have the app or, that I’m not signed in to the phone account, or is it a tech issue??
The last activity thing only shows certain activity, not just showing up. Making a listing, completing an order, I forget what else but it's listed somewhere.
I think the "active" you are referring to is a test. I'm not seeing it now, but I was seeing it a few weeks ago (I believe only when I was incognito mode) If I remember correctly, there were specific criteria for "active" -- something like the last time the shop owner shipped a product, messaged a customer or created/renewed a listing. Those might not be exactly right, but it was something like that.
EDITED to add: And for me, on a phone browser/small screen, now the "contact seller" is compressed into a chat bubble icon over the shop banner.
How is it an Etsy app issue if you don’t have it?
That’s what I’m wondering. If the info isn’t showing correctly because I don’t have the app.
Are you using the same browser?
No, one is safari & the other is either Bing or Duck Duck Go.

I don't understand; if you're not Signed In, how does it know you're you (and then it goes on to say how many days you were not active).
I’m signed in to my laptop, just not on my phone, where several people shop, so it’s the “not active” part that I don't understand. I am active, but I would think, to a buyer, it looks like I’m not maintaining my shop.
Plus, with no way for them to contact me, I wondered if that was why I never get questions. Not even for the occasional purchases.
Hopefully this makes more since of my post.
What difference does it make? Not sure I understand your concern. You aren't logged in so of course it is going to show lack of activity. You are logged in elsewhere. Not all information is shared across the boards. There are differences with browsers and devices.

@ChillwolfArt They know it’s you by your IP address.

Now it all makes since. I found the way to contact as well as why it’s not showing activity thanks to you & @UppNorthEh
Thanks everyone!!
