No warning no email explanation nothing and I'm not able to contact Etsy directly via message, email or phone.
I have no policy violations, all of my info is up to date, etc.
I have been selling on Etsy for 10 years now and it is my sole source of income.
It's imperative that I get this resolved ASAP.
What do I do????
Thank you!
Your shop will stay in Vacation Mode while we review your info This means you won't be able to receive new orders until we finish verifying your info (which usually takes up to 48 hours after you uploaded your document). No need to do anything else right now—we'll reach out if we need more details from you.
@ManzanitaMercantile: Have you checked your SPAM or junk mail folders - some eMail providers consider much of Etsy eMails as SPAM. There is no published eMail address or phone number for Etsy customer service.
Have you tried opening a support ticket through Dashboard > Community & Help > Contact Us If you cannot find the appropriate topic use the closest or "I Still Need Help". And if lucky you may find the link to request a callback.
Just so you know, even if Etsy Support or the Help Pages sent you here this is a seller peer to peer forum, and should not be considered a way to contact Etsy, if that is your hope (although Etsy does sometimes read and reply to posts).
I’ve tried everything
thank you
no emails in spam/junk mail
@ManzanitaMercantile Usually a trademark or error triggering the automated system to put you on vacation mode. Etsy staff will review your shop. Sometimes it quick and sometimes not. Unfortunately, no emails are sent out. Hope all goes well.
Thank you
thank you
The exact same thing happened to me last night, no warnings, no emails. Just the same cryptic message about reviewing my account details.
My understanding from what I read a few weeks back is Etsy is obliged to check accounts due to some recent legal requirement. I'm sorry its vague, I just remember thinking I hope it doesn't happen to me. The seller of course wasn't informed & was waiting over a week without success.
Interesting that both you and the OP have been here since 2014.
And that both shops sell vintage.
Same thing happened to us last night, been selling since 2016. No warning and same message as you have. Its our sole income as well. Im seeing this alot on here today so im guessing its a bulk shut down for the informs act stuff. Altho they could have found a better way to get our info without turning off our paycheck!
I agree
Sure would have been nice if they had proactively asked for verification for inform like amazon did... months ago.
I don"t see any reason why a shop cant be left open and a flag triggered in the system for someone to take a look as shutting down sales hurts sellers some people rely on etsy for some of the income they make to put food on the table and keep a roof over they're head.
after all if thing always end up being reviewed by an actual person then why shut it down perhaps questions over copyright a lot of that could be resolved through just messaging the seller and asking a few question or asking for documentation.
if it is copyright then the items in question being sold can be removed and etsy could urge the that the matter be settled in court or any documentation proving ownership or the right to use such material.
content creators on youtube have had issues with individuals abusing the copyright system to harass and/or have videos taken down that have no copyright and fall completely under free speech and/or fair use.
@HephaestusForgeCraft It is more than that. Copyright and trademark are govened by the holder and there would be an email.
There are new legal laws in place that Etsy must have information for. They are now collecting that information for the Inform Act.
Chaces are you may need to reverify your ID, bank information and/or tax information. Etsy has been collecting information as required by the Inform Act.
Your shop may or may not qualify.
It could be a glitch or it could be the bots have been programmed to check certain information.
You may need to contact Etsy.
@PrimFuntook a quick read of the inform act seen to be more about taxes and stolen items being sold online I don't see this as a legitimate issue and seems to be a constant with congress and the senate instead of revising old laws and updating those they continue to add regulations when It truly is not needed.
theft of an online account is already regulated and punishable
being in possession of stolen property is or is not a crime depending on how the item came into said persons possession.
counterfeit items being sold intentionally is a type of fraud and is already regulated
all selling platforms need a certain amount of ID/tax and bank details these same selling platforms also keep logs of Ip addresses and email information
the idea that this law will do much if anything is a farce.
Mine was put on vacation mode, no explanation other than a message in the app saying it was to give me more time to fulfill my orders. All my orders go through a third-party partner (Printify) so I don't really need "more time".
I also had a 45 day reserve placed on my account for a few days "unless I provide shipping tracking numbers" which Printify also automatically does....
Weird stuff.
@DigitalRequiem: Are all of your orders marked as complete with shipping on time? Sometimes Etsy's public facing messages are very generic, but your shop appears to be available. Another reason for the reserve might be the merchandise which appears to infringe on intellectual property rights. I'd be much more worried about the Disney Corporation's lawyers as you have not referenced your licensing agreement with Disney in your listings but are using their protected images and names.
We had the same happen to our account yesterday morning. The second time in a week this has happened now. The first time it disappeared after 48 hours so presume our information was correctly verified. When it happened again yesterday I got a call back off Etsy who agreed it shouldn't have happened again but that their bots must have caused this. Unhelpfully, they can't just remove it though as that's another department!
Totally agree that this is an awful way to be treating us as sellers. We have been selling for years and all our information is correct and verified. To close our shop twice in a week without any warning is an awful way to act.
My shop was put on vacation mode on 9/9 and no emails explaining what I should do. Very frustrating. How do you talk to a real person at Etsy???
@ManzanitaMercantile Glad to see your shop re-opened.
It seems that this is happening more frequently now - shops going on vacation mode then within 24 hours off vacation mode. Maybe an automatic bot error on their part?
Its good to see you're back, if you're missing any star ratings or listings I would wait a few more hours, everything should eventually return back to normal.
We too have had our shop put on holiday mode for the second time in a week. No way to contact Etsy to get to the cause of removal, no communication from them to say why they believe we have committed an infringement of intellectual property rights of a company that sells absolutely nothing even remotely similar to us.
Etsy is impossible to contact by any means - not sure how on earth they have a platform of sellers if this is how they conduct their business.
