EIN Error

 I try to upload my EIN i get an error saying its "invalid" but this is the one that the IRS gave me. I don't know why it's not on their file. I also tried to put in my SSN to replace the EIN but it is also not taking it. What can I do?

@ToonyPopShop: How long ago did you get the EIN? IRS does not verify EINs, this is done by third parties and if often takes quite some time for the various databases to update.

Oh, so it's not accepting my number because it takes a while to be entered into the database?

Is the name on the EIN the same as what is legally posted on the bank account.  All forms of name must match and the form of name for the EIN is the name you used when you registered.

I keep getting error messages like "There was an error saving your taxpayer information. Please try again." and  "Our 1099-K partner is currently experiencing a site outage. As a result, you cannot currently download your form. We recommend checking back in a few hours." Is there something wrong with Etsy?
