I've had 3 different customers place duplicate orders today. After contacting the customers I know this wasn't intentional, but probably some glitch on the website or payment processor.
I'd appreciate if someone had a look at this issue, as this can easily result in customer disputes if sellers don't notice the duplicate orders in a timely matter.
I will say that I have had this happen in my shop on occasion and usually the customer has only intended to place one order. When I see this happen in my orders, I always send a note to the customer to verify their order and if in fact they ordered twice or not. Usually the answer is one order only.
Yes, this happens occasionally in my shop too. But 3 different customers on the same day looked like something was causing it on Etsy's end.
I've had more of these than usual lately as well. None of the customers wanted the duplicate orders. One came through 3 times.
This is still happening. The customers don't seem to be aware of the duplicate orders until I contact them to offer a refund.
Etsy team- please have a look at this issue!
I've had three of these in the last two weeks. None were intentional. Only one customer gave me any information as to what happened on her end. She said that after she placed the first order, she just got a message that said "something went wrong", so she thought it didn't go through. She didn't place the second order until hours later when I renewed the listing (after checking to make sure I had supplies in stock to make another), so that leads me to believe she didn't get a confirmation email either, even though both transactions went through on my end.
I don't recall ever having this happen before, so three times in two weeks makes it seem like a new bug to me.
