I made a new listing, and now there are two of them. Has anyone else had this happen recently? I'm not sure what happened. Even if the internet stalled or something, it shouldn't have made two listings because copying a listing takes a few steps. I've been billed twice, so it's not simply a visual glitch. It's not a particularly amazing listing, and I'm not making more of it, so I don't need a duplicate. More importantly, I'm concerned about the other new listings I had planned.
Some details
- I copied and edited an old listing. This is what I normally do when adding a listing in an existing category. The old listing is right where it should be.
- I've been renewing, editing, and listing these past couple hours. Only this listing is doubled.
- This listing does have a variation.
Yes! This has happened to me several times and I also copy sold items and redo and post, then I sometimes see two of the same listings! I hope Etsy can fix this issue and refund sellers for double charges
Has it been happening for a long time? Or just recently?
It can happen if you press too long on publish or if your Internet hiccups. Yes, 2 can be created. You can contact Etsy and ask them if they would credit the 20 cents for this or let it go and just remove the 2nd one.
I have had it happen only once and that is because I did hold the publish button for too long. It was my error.
That's a big glitch then. To duplicate a listing intentionally, I have to copy it, publish it, and click through the "leave page" pop up.
It was probably the internet. It was a touch cranky. But an internet flicker shouldn't be causing a multi-step process.
It's not about the 20 cents. I don't want to keep listing if this is going to be a ongoing thing.
Hopefully, it's just a one-time glitch, but in this situation, it shouldn't be a problem if you use the second listing and edit it for another item you were going to post.
