I'm browsing Etsy and seeing different pricing displayed for certain listings when on the main shop page (price A), when clicking into the listing itself (price B) and then when I add it to my cart (price A again). There is no shipping cost displayed on the item listings.
Another listing I looked at showed price $117.60 USD on the main page. Clicking into the listing itself, there were multiple items to select from in the drop down menu. Each and every one I clicked on showed it would cost $117.60. I added the largest item to my basket and there it showed the price as $98. Also no shipping cost associated with the listing page, only when in basket.
Tested on both Firefox and Edge browser. Using USD in Firefox, GBP in Edge. Exact same issue.
EDIT: Most prices on the main page seem to largely match the listing page, but many are showing a much lower price when put in the basket (like more than 10% lower). Can anyone else test this and see if they are seeing the same issue? It's not happening for all but quite a few. I notice it seems to be the ones with odd looking prices that look like they have been converted from another currency.
Hi,
This is the Tax or VAT, depending where you are. So when a buyer is looking at a listing in the shop it is showing the cost of the item plus the tax/vat they will pay in their country. When an item goes into the basket the tax is taken off as more items may be added and the tax is then calculated at the checkout stage (round up with all those pennies!). I hope this help explain it.
So if you are in the UK and looking at a UK shop then there is not tax/vat showing as the shop owner should have all that paperwork sorted (for overseas sales Etsy collects the needed money on our behalf).
I have noticed that the listings are not showing shipping costs at the moment, which is worrying and hopefully just a glitch!
I have spent some time trying to add different items to my basket - it looks to be all overseas shops where the price has been converted to a different currency. Shops based in my country (UK) show the same price in the basket.

There an entire long thread (last time I looked it was up to 4 pages) about the no shipping showing. No one seems to know if it is a glitch or a test but it is of great concern.
That makes a lot of sense. It's funny though, I'm sure it never used to do that - it really threw me! As in, an item I had in my basket yesterday displayed a totally different price compared to today. The seller told me she had not changed anything.
Also interesting is when have that one item in my basket, it shows me the reduced price plus a separate line for taxes; when I put a second item in suddenly both items show the inflated price and no separate line for tax.
Thanks for clarifying, I thought I was going mad.
