I have three orders due to ship today, but the 'open orders' dashboard section does not mention them at all. It only references tomorrow's order and the more nebulous 'within a week', disregarding today's orders entirely.

I don't have an In Progress tab, I only have the New & Completed but I just had the same issue. A hard refresh (control + f5) fixed it though!
It's because you are using the "In Progress" tab. That's supposed to help you keep track of your orders. You can delete it, if you want. I did. I only have New and Completed.
* The fact that second screenshot shows "Dispatch within a week" is because it considers the latest date. I see that too. Today is within a week.
That still doesn't make sense to me, because at the time I had 9 orders total - 7 were marked 'in progress' and 2 were in the 'new' section. The dashboard only referred to 6 orders total i.e. all the orders excluding the 3 due to ship out today. It was still picking up on the orders in the 'in progress' tab, just not today's ones.

I've always hated this, it will warm you a week away, a day away but will not warn you when it's time. I'm sure countless people have shipped late because it looks like everything is up to date until you manually go confirm for yourself. They might add well get rid of that whole pointless section if it doesn't even work for what it's for at the time it's actually needed.
