Hi everyone,
I’m having an issue with data synchronization for one of my products, and I wanted to share it here to see if anyone else has faced something similar.
In my ad stats, I see 7 orders, which looks like good sales. However, when I check the data on the selling platform (Etsy), it turns out I’ve only sold it once. One order was completed and shipped to the customer, but the rest of the data in the ads shows discrepancies. Interestingly, the ad data doesn’t match the actual orders on Etsy.
My question is:
I’d really appreciate any help or advice, as it’s difficult for me to understand why the ad data doesn’t match the actual orders.
Thanks in advance for your help!
Hi Mariela,
I’ve noticed similar discrepancies with Etsy Ads. Ad stats often reflect attributed activity (e.g., clicks leading to purchases within the 30-day window) rather than actual completed transactions.
Additionally, when a customer purchases multiple products in one order, the Ads dashboard may count them as separate "orders," inflating the stats. There can also be slight delays in syncing between the Ads and Sales dashboards, especially during busy periods.
Cross-checking ad stats with order details can help clarify these issues.
Cheers,
Anne
Hi Anne,
Thank you for your response! I understand what you’re saying, but I’d like to clarify that I’ve only sold this product once, and yet the ad stats show 7 orders. I checked the order details, and there’s no discrepancy between the number of orders and actual sales.
I understand that sometimes multiple products in one order may be counted as separate orders, but this doesn’t seem to be the case here. Could it be possible that the system is attributing clicks to sales that have not actually been completed?
Additionally, if the ad stats reflect activity within a 30-day window, I still don’t understand why it shows sales I haven’t made. Could you clarify how these stats are attributed and why they’re showing more orders than I’ve actually sold?
I’d appreciate your help in understanding this better.
Thank you,
Mariaela
I’ve also contacted Etsy Support via chat, but the response I received didn’t address my issue. The chat seemed to misunderstand the problem and provided information about Offsite Ads instead of explaining the discrepancy in the Etsy Ads data. I’m still unsure about why the ad data shows sales that I haven’t made. Any advice on how to clarify this with Etsy Support?
