Disablement of messages

Hi there,

I am not sure, if I am right here, but I do have a problem. Just to clarify first, I did have an etsy shop, but it is closed indefinitely.

On Oct 31st I sent out 4 messages to four shops, asking if they could provide me with a special fabric I was looking for to sew a kimono. I sent these messages out as a BUYER and on Nov 1st I wanted to reply to the responses I had received and received the all famous error message:

"Bummer, your messages have been temporarily disabled. Please contact support to have them reactivated. Also, see the FAQ and Community Guidelines for more info about Messages."

Immediately I contacted Etsy support and I was told that a specialst would contact me, but up until now NOTHING has happened. Also etsy support doesn't reply or anything.

I am kind of clueless what to do, since I wanted to buy something, but now I can't contact the shops and clear details and no response or anything from anyone.

Has anyone also experienced something like this, but on the BUYER side and not SELLER side? Any advice for me, cause I am at my wit's end???

If you only had one account, your shop, then the message is considered a shop message. Etsy doesn’t read messages so they wouldn’t know what the content was. It shouldn’t have been a problem unless you sent them all at the same time.

Seems like it was a false flag, but you should be good to go now.

Moving forward, please be careful when sending repeated messages with one or more external links in them as this might trigger our spam filters. It would be best to send the attached images instead.
