My store is nearly a year old with only 4 sales!! I sell digital downloads afro inspired Greeting cards. What am I doing wrong! I also based in Netherlands!
This is only my opinion, but I think
physical cards sell better than downloads,
for several reasons:
1. People don't usually have card stock on hand.
2. Envelope with cards packages are not inexpensive to buy, so
again, it's not easy as a DIY.
3. Ink is expensive as well, so really colorful cards use up
too much ink.
Sorry to disappoint you, your card designs are exceptional.
@owndigicards: Since this is a technical issues forum, you might get more help in one of the other forums such as https://community.etsy.com/t5/Marketing-Your-Business/bd-p/marketing?ref=gnav or https://community.etsy.com/t5/Marketing-Your-Business/bd-p/marketing?ref=gnav
Also, you cannot just rely on Etsy Search - you need to initially drive your own traffic and sales so that the algorithm learns that people want what you are selling.
I think a lot of sellers are unable to access all the forum sections.
@owndigicards if this is the case, you will want to re-sign into the forum. If that does not work, contact etsy with "can't access forum" as your subject.
no shop policies.
no About section letting everyone know about your process.
no Profile
no shop location under your shop name
so basically a tiny shop with no one behind the counter in a huge mall of competition.
An incomplete shopfront is penalized by etsy in search.
And I have to agree, in some places I can by a card with an envelope for the same price, already printed, ready to go.
You have nice items, (I'm not sold on the earth day card which goes against my earthdayishness), you may want to consider controlling your artwork by selling finished cards with envelopes, shipped in bend proof mailers. AND maybe selling larger prints without text.
good luck
You would do much better if you sold the physical card along with an envelope.
