Does anyone know a way to contact someone at Etsy technical, as there is a problem with the delivery dates shown to customers that has been going on for years. I have contacted Etsy customer service about this, but have always been fobbed off.
My shipping settings are 1-3 days processing and 1-3 days delivery and I have my processing schedule for Monday - Friday, Saturday and Sunday, so earliest delivery would be 2 days and latest delivery would be 6 days.
Customer buys an item on 23 September - estimated delivery dates show as 26 September - 2 October, which is wrong
Next 2 customers buy an item - estimated delivery dates show as 25 September - 2 October, also wrong
Next 2 customers buy an item - estimated delivery shows as 25 - 29 September which is correct
Next customer it shows 25 September - 3 October, wrong again.
All bought on 23rd September - 4 different delivery dates shown?
I wouldn't be worried if it shows the date after the expected delivery date as that provides a cushion if items take longer to get delivered. Does it have something to do with different time zones? You can be pretty sure Etsy will do nothing about it!
PS. You need to add your location otherwise if anyone filters to US only, then your shop is excluded from the results.
Add it here: How to Add Your Shop's Location – Etsy
My busiest period is Halloween, so it does matter to me that the dates are correct, as I'll lose sales if the customer thinks that it won't get there in time for their party/event.
All the sales are to the US, so time zones doesn't account for a 4 day difference in delivery times?
Have added the location - Thank you
@jry2fiugdky64u5h Did you recheck your shipping settings > "Your Order Processing Schedule" (Mon-Fri./Saturday/Sunday).
Yes, all the settings are correct. I messaged Etsy about these problems several times over the last few years and all I get from them is to adjust my settings to compensate for it. But as you can see from my first message, sometimes the correct dates are shown, so shortening the processing or delivery times would make that date too short.
I know Etsy says they adjust estimated delivery dates based on data received from USPS. So unless all of your buyers were literally in the same city & State, this might account for different estimates? And yes, time zones mess with dates shown and it's not consistent.
I'm in Florida. If I purchased one of your prop phones today I see a 1-3 day processing time of ships by Sept. 25-27.
Estimated delivery is shown as Sept. 26 thru Oct. 3rd.
Realistically I am not going to receive the package on Tuesday, 26th even if you do ship it tomorrow, the 25th.
TBH I'd be more upset with the earlier estimated delivery dates then the latest estimated date shown. No one here is Amazon.
Funnily that isn't quite true, as I use Amazon's fulfillment network to ship all my items, so if you ordered today it could quite easily be delivered by tomorrow!
same item 2 different delivery estimates depending on zip code
90210 - 26th - 4th oct,
11231 - 26th - 3rd oct.
neither of which is accurate, because if you ordered today it would be delivered by Friday at the very latest.
I have been seeing this as well, for a long time. I have a 1-3 day time and a lot of "may arrive late - buyer expects (the day after it ships?) notes in red are showing for me. I honestly have ignored it since it's not on their priority list of things to fix. Instead I added a line in my shipping note to buyer that says... "Your order is expected for delivery at the latest by..." and then I put the end date that Etsy gives me. If it's a priority mail package, I'll go into the usps website and find the priority delivery date and put that instead of what Etsy says.
then why not have your processing time as 1 day, that should speed it up some
Because some of the dates given are correct, but would be wrong if I changed it.
I agree. The dates are sometimes ridiculous.
It has been going on for so long now, I don't think they have any intention of fixing it.
Check your profiles to see if something has been changed. I am seeing what appears to be 1 day processing.
Make sure 1 to 3 is set and that you did not opt for Saturday and Sunday processing time frame. If you marked Saturday and Sunday as shipping days that can be the issue. Or the system automatically included you when it should not have.
If that is the case, contact Etsy.
