Today is day 5 in a row that I’ve contacted the help center- twice with the chat bot and three days in a row with actual people.
I scheduled my cyber sale but only put 20% off so I ended it early to put 25% off so I’m part of the participating Cyber2023 seller community.
The cyber link no longer works to schedule a new 25% off sale and it keeps showing that my sale is scheduled even though I ended it last week.
When I try to do it manually without a link, it says that I can’t schedule a sale over 30 days.
Has anyone else had this issue? I feel like it’s hurting my sales.
if you haven’t had this issue as a seller can someone please offer insight on how to resolve this?
C.
You can't schedule a sale for more than 30 days. Just make your own.
The Cyber2023 sale runs Oct.23-Nov.29.
Its a special link that overrides that setting.
@CaptivatingCatahoula not anymore - Etsy has now broken into 3 sections by date with different names for each group of dates.
I think it's actually 2 segments. EARLYDEALS2023 and CYBERDEALS2023. I'm not sure it really matters, I'm not getting any activity on the sale.
Are these special names sales any more advantageous than if I run my own sale?
It doesn't appear that any preference was given to the special names when I checked yesterday. Who knows if Etsy will (or even can) change that.
I would love to know that answer also! Following.
I would try use EARLYDEALS2023 to set up a sale from now through November 19th and then set up a second sale CYBERDEALS2023 from November 19th through November 29th. That is how Etsy has it split up. If Etsy limits search to the sale items that would be the sale names they have used.
Yesterday when I clicked into the sale and then did a search it showed all items as normal. It did not limit the results to only those stores with 25% off. I feel quite the fool that Etsy implied it had to be 25% off and I fell for it.
Etsy hadn't done proper research when they first scheduled the sale and then discovered in some areas that it is against the law to run a sale that lasts over 30 days so changed it ad broke it into 2 sales running back to back to comply with this. To run a sale the entire time you need to sign up separately for both sales.
We have tried and tried to get help with the same type of issues. No one knows what to do and they barely understand the questions. so many hours are spent writing and writing to get help. It is obvious there is a language problem and they have no clue how to help. Dealing with ETsy is becoming even more difficult! (did not think it could get worse but it is) Chat is always zero help and rarely does someone even answer. But writing in from the help section is not helping either. We are on our own and must decide whether to stay here or not. No once seems to be able to help.
If you start your own sale, and name it whatever you want, your items will be included in Etsy's Cyber Sale (click the Deals tab on the app).
Etsy never thinks things through or checks to make sure things are glitch free and that is why I would never click on one of their quick links to anything. They initially created the sale link without thought to the fact that sales over 30 days are against the law some places and defy their own sales set up criteria.
You can set up your own and divide the sale into 2 parts. If you name each part a different name you can have them overlap. If you want to use the same name for both then end one on one day and start the next the next day. You will miss the minute between 11:59 pm and 12:01 am, but it's unlikely that anyone will get through the checkout process during that time frame.
