This has happened to me twice in my shop this month now, and this one in particular really makes me question if there's an issue with Etsy's customer account side of things. Customer from New Jersey placed an order, however the ship to address, both on my side and he did confirm on his order confirmation e-mail, the ship to address was a ladies name, going to Las Vegas. Both he and I tried to reach Etsy to see what is happening, and how best to fix this now, as it wasn't caught until the order was delivered, and to put it mildly, that Etsy Support Chat thing is Terrible.... and apparently there isn't another way to get ahold of them. Also, side note that really has me mad at Etsy, their only solution, is to have the customer file a Case against my shop because of this.
Has this type of address issue happened to anyone else? Where a customer places an order, then once it's delivered, they reach out saying "that's not where I live, there's no way I would have typed in 'that' address"
I've had a similar issue where Etsy automatically filled in the last address the customer used, and they didn't catch it until after the fact. In my case, it was their daughter's address, as they had placed an order with a different shop to send to her.
The fact that it was on their confirmation email suggests that it is, in fact, the address they "entered", even if that means they just accepted it by default. Maybe they just don't want to confess to it.
But it could also be a glitch. I don't have any suggestions for contacting Etsy, unfortunately.
